Congrats, Vee! Next time, make it easier if you can. Please!!!
And those UE's, clean them out; the next rounds may be tougher yet!

Terrific job, Chanda! You have amazed me.

First if all, an abundance of props to Chanda!!!

Vee was given a formidable challenge and she overcame it. :D

P.S. TP, I don't feel so bad because both Seles and Hingis went 3 sets in earlier rounds to lesser players.

OMG, remind me of the days of the sisters heart stopping matches. I was following this match from work. How was the quality?

The quality on Chandas site of the net i would give an A- She played superb but she had some easy volleys that she could not put away.

on Venus side it was pretty piss poor until it was most important. Her forehand was really letting her down. Just a little technical issue that her dad will take care of when they practice later today :)

Great match! Props to both players!

From Beige: "P.S. TP, I don't feel so bad because both Seles and Hingis went 3 sets in earlier rounds to lesser players." Thanks for the soothing words.

Freethinker82, it was a good match. Chanda played amazingly well: great defense, speed, shot making, net play. Venus had a few moments of brilliance, but, overall, I'd say she delivered an average performance, barely enough to win.

Venus was serving awfully - only when she faced the break-chances at 5-5 she served well. Bad luck for Chanda.

Why was Venus so friggin calm when I almost had heart failure?:(

agreat match and a real good win for VENUS and that match should get her really primed for Hingis/Seles, Capriati/Momo and finally lil sis. :)

MY GOD, I thaught I would not have to deal with this type of drama for a some time to come. I am at work and during the second set I left my desk with co-worker and went down to the cafe because I could not take it. I hurried back only to see it at 5-4 second set. Man, that was too close Venus...

Yep, Venus wants to kill me again .. This is the first time in a long time that I've had to make a deal with you now who... Venus is forcing me to attend services regularly AGAIN .

Great match nonetheless... Her butt needed to be pushed :P

this match was a nightmare scenario for me. Venus and Chanda are my favourite players ever so it was so tough for me to watch.I was rooting for Chanda though only because it would have been so nice for her to get some great success that she really deserves, still felt guilty when I was cheering on a venus double-fault or forehand error :(

Venus pls dont ever give me such a heart attack again okay!
I cant take it anymore!!!

It was a great match, but if Chanda won the point to go up 6-5, she would have won I am pretty sure. But that was one of the best matches in the women's draw this year:):)

Relax people, no heart attacks from me. I knew Queen Vee would win this cause she's done more amazing things before. She had won a match before with the oponent having 8 match points;) , remember a few months ago against Juju;)

Congrats to both Venus and Chanda, you girls rule:bounce:
