I was in Paris for the weekend and decided to go to Roland Garros. Was lovely. The place is small. The centre court isn't how I imagined it,it looks bigger on the tele. The clay from last year is still laying. Got to go in to the ladies locker room (Locker number 19 is missing-it was Steffi Graf's-the one they gave her when she retired) The museum was pretty sweet-ps they have a venus williams exhibition on-i don't know if anyone here has seen it-if not i've taken snaps which I can put up. Also, the museum had a gorgeous guy at the front desk :)The tour guide was called Amelie-she was really lovely-really enjoyed whate she was doing. We took the walk from the locker room on to centre court. There were lots of autographs on the wall just inside before they come out- Jankovic's had a little heart above the i in her name-my partner rolled his eyes and went "typical"-got to look in the press toom-sit at the interview table-walk among the grounds- :) pretty neat day

Also they have a beauty room (i thought of jankovic again) and a hairdressers-it was quite amazing standing in the locker room knowing all our faves have been in there-but you can imagine how frosty it must be-there's space to separate-but man-oh to be a fly on the wall for example during the 99 final or even the 92 final

Wow. It's a fantastic place, especially during the French Open.

I went there last year and the museum was closed for maintenance which happens like once a year :o on top of that, it started pouring rain  so we had to hide in the shop where I had already been twice when going to the tournament :)
but I still really liked seeing the place so empty :)

I took a tour there in 2006. I agree with pretty much everything you said and man it brings back memories, I did all of those things.

It is a smallish complex, very clean and green, and one of the first things I said when I walked on centre court was that it seems so much smaller than on TV. Loved going into the players locker rooms, and seeing the gym area. Very nice in there.

One day I hope to go there for the tournament.
