Do you guys remember when Serena and Nadal played tennis on water last year, and look at that both are number 1 coming into this event. I wonder where Venus and Andy will be next year.

RELAX people! I'm sure Venus has other versions of this dress in monotone colors. The important thing is, the design is cute so imagine it in other colors would look great.

My first reaction was like - woaaaaaahhhhhhhh what the hell is that!

But it has really grown on me, it's as if it looks better every time I see it again. Particularly from afar. I think that these colours are perfect for Miami as well as being this season's colours. And her weaveless short hair is great too. It's a whole lot better than what all the other girls including serena are wearing at the moment. Elena D is the only that has another cute dress going for her at the moment.

I also hope that she doesn't recycle this dress a billion times in different colours AND definately hoping for a classic dress for Wimbly. For Roland Garros I'd like a different colour of the US Open 2007 polo shirt/skirt combination. That would look great too. But then I think that Venus would look great in anything, even in a black bin bag.

I don't think people realize that Vee's dress represents MIAMI. Miami is so full of color and life. It's artsy and Bohemian. Alot like Venus's dress.

^Exaclty, its called the Glam Slam not the bland slam. It's always festive and colorful in Miami and that's what Venus is showing, even Serena's dress will be a bright loud pink.

i love how people pretend to know something about fashion and whats `in` right now when they clearly do not.

the styles you may see in omaha or montgomery are not exactly indicators of trends.

clearly you don't know what you're talking about.

first, i'm in los angeles and have never been to omaha or montgomery.

second, the boho/hippy look is in. why do you think venus is wearing a tie-dye dress?

but, maybe you should take a look at this item from omaha, montgomery-based elle magazine. they know nothing about fashion.

the main thing is venus loves it.it is not for us to love although i do love it.its different and she is stepping outside the box.hell we cant please everyone all the time but as long as she loves it its what matters most.she is the one wearing it not us so venus you go girl wear what makes you happy.its festive and lively and cute.its different and you know what you wont see everyone with the same thing on.so venus wears what floats her boat and not ours.

ummm considering Vee wants people to buy her tennis gear, I think Vee wants people to love it..... Mind u darrin might I ask where can you buy her stuff and I don't think anyone can really answer that...

The more pics I see the more I realise it will look great on camera because of the bold colours.... Personally I think it's great there are 18 pages on a dress - love it or hate it, it's great that we are talking about it.

Hey All,

First of all for the ones that suggest someone else design the Sisters clothes, give it up - and especially as it pertains to Venus. It really doesn't matter if we like this or that about Venus's hair, make-up - dress - shoes and etc. The point is - she likes/loves it. I've always been of the mind - if she likes it I love it. The tie dye is to die for. You go Venus! It is what it is.

And of course - then there are the haters that will always pipe up and say something negative about anything Venus does - and can talk to the hand. She could care a flip less - with her rich self.

I think Vera was wearing an EleVen cap at the IW tourney?

This is like Tiger Woods palying with Nike golf gears.
He is winning despite design deficiencies.

Same for Queen Venus.
The dress is not "all that", but Venus wearing it makes it look:bounce::bounce::worship:

And those never ending legs!!

Actually, anyone can answer that: NOWHERE. Steve & Barry's was the exclusive EleVen retailer, but they went out of business in January.

I think it looks better from far away. I like it! It should look great on TV.

Funny you should say that, because the first time I caught sight of it on the BBC, it was from a distance and I LOVED what I was seeing. The colours are bold and rich and they completely flatter her skin tone. :D

Funny, but I think we're living in an age where so-called 'fashionistas' will wax lyrical about the colour of an outfit while wilfully ignoring the fact that the colour looks completely objectionable on the celebrity... (Michelle Williams in canary yellow at the Oscars a few years ago comes to mind. Yes, hypothetically it was a "lovely colour" - on someone else - but not on her. She couldn't carry it off.)

So to me, it matters not one whit whether I have a personal predilection for violet and hot fuschia pink - the thing is, those particular colours really, really suit Venus and she looks fantastic in those shades.

That's not the problem. Where I start to have a few reservations about this look is when I see it up close...

1.) Tie-dye. Yes it can be summery and festive, but it can also look messy, random and cheap. If it had to be tie-dye I wish it was more batik-like...
2.) The skirt. I can't figure out the hem-line which looks under-designed to me. Asymmetrical is fine, but even then, the lines should be clean, clear and deliberate. I don't see that with this dress.
3.) The hair. Looks great off the court imo, but once the wind starts blowing and the make-up is off, she can look a little ragged and older than she is with the short-do.

That said, I'm willing to give this look a chance. It may grow on me. And even if it's not my favourite look on Venus, it's still streets ahead of some of the utter 'recession' bland fare or ugly dresses that the big sports-brands have been churning out this year and inflicting on players.

Other designers would do anything for this much attention for an outfit.:D BTW darrin, if she sold them out of her car she would make straight up profits with very low overhead.

Venus could set up her own damn store if she wants. Knowing the business woman she is, she certainly is reviewing all her options but is presently focusing more on tennis for the pleasure of you and me.;)
