It's been a disaster since New Haven last August. She only has about 4 match wins since then. That's one win every 2 months.

The only saving grace for Anna is that the ranking system rewards having a few really good tournaments more than consistently having one or two wins, so a couple of good tournaments would save her.

chaks race ranking falls 2 places this week due to inactivity.

she really needs to string some wins together, but shes playing all the big tournaments, so its gonna have to be beating good/very good players at the bigger tournaments.

She needs to play more. Wozniack just made the final of this dinkfest. Vesnina almost won the tournament.
Anna should be playing some of these mickey mouse tournaments, get some wins and confidence

I have to agree. She should have entered some of the smaller tournaments to try to get some momentum going. Then again, she did lose to Suarez Navarro in Hobart back in January. :tape:

Anna's record since 2008 New Haven (excluding Fed Cup) is 5-11. :help:

after a good week in rome where chak won back to back matches for the 1st time since august, chak's race ranking rises to 49.

49 isn't anything special but its going in the right direction.

chakvetadze once again rises in the race ranking for this week given her 3rd round showing in madrid to #45.

its a good sign that everytime she playes she rising in the race, that tells us her year and form are getting back on track
