This totally sucks :awww:

Sympathies to Sybille who was playing some great tennis and didn't deserve to have her super run end this way.

Bad for the fans but good for the fans - only big name still in the draw!

Sybille  Had a good chance here for an upset!

Ana *fistpump* :drive:

Since when does Bammer withdrawing make any difference to the event?

If it was Ivanovic, then I could maybe see your point.

Well, at this point, not only do they have unpopular & average players deep in the tourney, now these players can't even get on the court. A premier event looking like this is awful for the WTA

They have 2 top 5 seeds and two players who are a big part of the future into the SF. Plus they still have arguably the most popular player in the draw still left in the tournament. I don't see how this is awful (for anyone except Sybille).

Why couldn't she have withdrawn last round :sobbing:

She probably got injured before her 4th round match yet still managed to mash Daniela into a fine pulp :rolls:

What a shame, she was playing really well too

I feel very sorry for Sybille; she was doing so well here. She is able to be a mom and a player at this same time, I am sure it is hard for her to be ready the entire season. I hope the injury is not too serious at least.

She was injured before the tournament started, probably it got worse now.

After her R1 win she said in an interview: "One week ago I never thought I could play"...

Sad for Sybille. I would hope Pennetta had made the SF though. :(

This would have been a great match with their contrasting playing styles. Infact, Bam Bam beat Ana in 2007 at Indian Wells. I think the match probobly would have been a very entertaining match with both players having hit their strides again on the courts.

Bam Bam

Good Luck in the Semis Ana ;):bounce:
