Any info?
I saw Shennay at the Oz Open, flew all the way and missed out on the QD by a handful but haven't seen her anywhere since....

No news on Jackson or Rolle- other than they haven't played in a while..

Also, another one of there contempories, Terryn Ashley- got to ther top 100, hung out with these ladies and also Speafrs and Granville a bit- she just retired- anyone know what she is up too?

JEss Kirklnad was a 'great white hope' for the US and a pretty good junior as well maybe won the OZ Open jnrs? and got a few WC's into larger US tounrnies for a few years.....what happned to her??

Any info would be great

Perry: Only doing doubles ATM
Jackson: Serious hip problems, a few surgeries
Rolle: Is playing ITF's sometimes, not MIA

And Granville came back this week :bounce:

I remember a girl something like Ashley Cargill? She used to be pretty good some years back but I've never seen her lately.

My guess is some of these girls simply ran out of money. The USTA doesn't financially support their players like the Russian and Eastern Europe federations do. And if you are over 17 or 18 years old, forget it!

I read somewhere that Ahsha Rolle's parents had already used up their 401ks to support her tennis.

Too bad.

If they don't become flexible, and provide some assistance, the future looks bleak for US tennis.
Once the WS retire, I don't see an good prospect likely to make it to the top 10.

Exactly, the USTA need to start financing their juniors and young players, or they'll be noone. I mean British tennis isn't a flourishing establishment, but the financial support is very good.

Did Rolle ever get in shape? She has game but doesn't seem to want it enough.

So her parents sacrificed that much & she wouldn't sacrifice herself by getting into shape.

Ahsha has been playing, but injuries keep on happening. Her knee especially.

I miss JamJam

And it's great that Laura is back this week :D

To be fair to Ahsha, her tennis career has been a Team Rolle effort. She could be fitter (without question) but she has tried her best and her family have been on board with everything.

She still is, but losing matches early in 25K tournaments are not exactly newsworthy.

YEah Ansley Cargill- I think she is aa Southern Belle - from Georgia maybe.

YEah, she played a bit of doubles with Harkleroad.

Sad the USTA doesn't support them.....heavens above, these players maynot have ever been Top 20 pleyrs or be the answer to the next Vee and Serena but with only a hand full of players in the Top 120, if they had support, these players could all be in that rnakings range now

You know you contradicted yourself there, right?

No I didn't but thanks for pointing it out. :o When I posted that reply, I was addressing the poster who was suggesting (that's how I saw it anyway) that Ahsha was being selfish (depleting her parents funds and having nothing to show for it). I didn't agree because I read an extensive interview with the Rolles and they were a united front. What I should've said was the Ahsah could be fitter but in in terms of her tennis ability, she was playing to the best of it. Streamlining her body would help her chase down more balls but Ahsha's actual game was pretty much set.
