Agnes. Wasting a huge opportunity.
Still, her slump seems to be history now.

Good god, is there more of a rollercoaster player than Agnes?

The minute she had the match in her pocket, utter collapse. :tape:

Congrats to Aga. I was hoping Agnes would take this one, but such is life.

 Yeah, Vaidisova and Szavay are totally 100% back. Some people on this board just love the overstatement.

However messy or ugly at times, I would hope that this match was more interesting than Caro vs Ula, because these two players have more variety and at times inspiration.

I don't know if any big fan has said Szavay is 100% percent back. That person would have to be ignoring her matches with all of their slow starts (an old habit revived today) and mini- and meta-:tape: meltdowns.

Oh well, now Agnes can prepare for Miami. And I like both sides of Aga-Nastya. Wouldn't mind it if this quarter stunned everyone.

Just like Ágnes used to :sobbing:

She is not out of her slump yet, she used to have nerves of steel now they are like Jello. If you can't close out matches it doesn't matter how well you play. No she is definitely still slumping.

at least Agnes is slumping now at the 4th round level, and not at the first round like a few month ago..some progress:confused:

Agnieszka did this again: after 'pummeling' Agnes (who said that? ah, faboozadoo) in the first set, she went into the second set in a relaxed mode, and this always can spell trouble with a player fighting for her life, so she minimally lost the second set and hence the unnecessary drama of the third. Some people here again tend to forget that Agnieszka is made of steel and to beat her when she is not sick is not easy, unless you ace her out from the court like Serena or Venus are capable of doing.

Congratulations to Ágnes for her will to fight. I hope somebody uploads the match soon.

Again, easy first set win means troubles for Aga, but a win is a win. Well done. GL in the QF!

Aga was a favorite of this match(at least because of ranking).
Agnes is in slump this year.
It was bagel in first set!

I can't understand how the hell Agnes fans are sooooooooo defeated?? Agi was able to raise up and fight, eventually she has lost but show some spirit.

GL to her in Miami.

I have seen this a number of times: Agnieszka from 1:4* winning all but at most one game and winning the whole match. So with her, going 1:4 is not the same as the match lost (unless she is sick or injured).

Really? Maybe because after months of disappointment which seemed to last eternity Ágnes finally experienced a good run at a major tournament. I understand your feelings but accept that Ágnes did achieve something after all at Indian Wells, I hope you are going to celebrate her victories more frequently, and that your current disappointment evaporates soon. She put up a great fight today in the second and the third sets. I wish her success in Miami.

I know, that's how I feel now. It was weird, I just broke down and was sobbing for like ten minutes. I have only shed like three tears after a result before and that was like three times ever. It was strange. It was a good tournament, but still really upsetting.

You are taking it way too seriously, and that was not a grand slam final -- then it would be more understandable. I feel really sorry for you.

I explained to you I don't know why. I have never cried before over a result, but for some reason this aggravated me a lot. I sure don't feel sorry for me, but I do feel sorry for you as I see you getting in fights with people just about every thread you post in. I shudder to think what life must be like :scared:

she's not back. has no coach, lack of footwork, crap serve, etc. she gained some confidence b/c beat some lower ranked players. she's defiant like hell, she's trying to prove herself, but it ends too many times up choking.
just delusional crybabies thinks she's fine.

Did anyone see the match, or everyone is making comments based on scores? If anyone saw the match could you please comment. I am affraid that neither of the girls is out of slump although both of them made a some progress. I wish them both to further improve and recover.

I understand the disappointment of some of Agnes' fans. One would love to see a sudden come back which ends "never ending" slump; it almost never happens, but a come back is usually signalled by events like a good run here. I think this is the ray of light at the end of a tunnel.

«Spécialité de la maison», one is tempted to say when more than casually watching Agnieszka's matches.

Seasoned fans of Agnisia are often frightened by a 6:0 or 6:1 in the first set because we know what to expect next: in the second set she becomes so relaxed as if playing exhibition tennis, and when the opponent is serious and fighting, Agnieszka often finds herself behind, often losing the set, and occasionally losing the match. Usually, at least when she is not ill or injured, she lifts her level dramatically in the closing games of the match and manages to win. Sometimes the luck is against her which combined with a strong opponent means her losing the match.

P.S. Beautiful pics in your avatar and signature.
