17 winners and 33 errors for Caroline. 28 winners and 51 errors for Urszula :o

Very nice handshake at the end though.

:haha: :haha: :haha: @ Caroline and her dad. I just couldn't stop laughing when she told him "idź już" which means just go :rolls: and later: keep your voice down, she understands everything :rolls:

Well, Ula did what she could. She can play brilliant shots if she wants. Still, it was an awesome tournament. I'm looking forward to Miami :D

Btw more handshakes like this one! :worship:

Indeed, it was a nice handshake :)

A win is a win, even though the match could have been a lot better. I hope Caroline can do something to Zvonareva.

Caro and Ula's handshake!! :awww::awww:! Soo soo nice! Even sisters aren't that nice to each other after a match

Good win here Caro! Definitely some things to work on moving forward and thinking about Vera. Not too optimistic about her chances there, but i hope i can watch it ! I love watching this girl!

Very nice handshake at the end though.

Telling statistics. The first set I understand was indeed very close. And those communications of Caroline with her father in Polish, and being afraid that Ula would understand. Really funny. Looks her father doesn't speak Danish.

That was hilarious! You could just tell she couldn't bear him on the court and I think it was more him who requested himself on the court for Caro.
Ula had her chances... I think she had a bad luck on this BP at 4 all in the 1st set. This ball on the baseline looked really long. Anyway the linesjudges were really poor... especially on the baseline. :help:
Still Ula had her best tournament in her career so far at this level, so she deserves congratulations. Hope she recovers before Miami qualies.
Congrats Caro! :yeah:

^^ He does speak Danish as I've seen him talk to Danish media in Danish. But obviously he's a lot more fluent in Polish.

But yea, you would think that in a situation like this he would switch to Danish so the opponent wouldn't be able to eavesdrop...

I'm happy that it was Caroline that beat Ula :) her comments to her dad were funny

Great tournament for Ula. It was the first time she played at such big stage in very important tournament. I guess those threesetters tired her a little as she didn't have enough energy to keep her game for the first set.
I'm still happy with her performance, she will develop. And the fact that she almost won the 1st set and level the second is great for me :D

Also :o @ commentators. They had no clue that Ulka sprained her ankle against Sextlana nor that Caro & Ula are basically like sisters. Guys, do some research it's not a cosmic science!

He was a bit annoying, don't you think? He analysed simply every her move/shot :tape: Did you hear when he told her that she could have slipped because of that water on the court near her chair? :tape: I was like relax man

In the interviews it was said that Urszula is playing on painkillers and her ankle is not so great; it is not certain that she will play in Miami. Whichever, she is having pretty good start this season. Both sisters are on the lighter side so it will take them a little longer to develop, but barring any hard injuries they will do great.

he usually makes such dumb mistakes but all in all I like them both.

No, it was Sidor. Stopa during his matches always says that people on the Internet know nothing and that they are mean, you should have noticed that by now  ;)

Just a match too far it would seem for Ula today. She had a terrific start, but her play got very erratic soon after, and Caro's solid play really started to show cracks in her serve and backhand.

I'm pleased about Ula's progress though, and her potential is very promising. It's already clear that she hits a more penetrating ball than her sister, and generally has a more imposing game, especially on serve.

Caro got it back together after being pushed around the court early on. I dont know where this 'pusher' business comes from. She was hitting with great length for much of the match

FIrst of all-polish commentator, Lech Sidor, knew tha Ula had an injury on her foot, he said it few times.
Second-Karol Stopa is a loser.

And Wozniacki's father is a complete ignorant. He knows nothing about playing pro tennis. He always says the same stuff-put more spin, move your feet and don't be afraid to hit it hard. Even Caroline knows that he's simply unusable when it comes to playing for real, that's why she was just like "get lost dad".

Someone asked about Ula's and Caroline's friendship- well yeah, usually when you hug or kiss people on the cheek and being nice it means you're a friend. That's the way it works. The girls, along with some german-polish player, talk in polish language, they all hang out together and are friends with each other for a very long time now.

Isn't he a former professional soccer player? I thought that was what brought him first to Germany, then to Denmark -- when he was sold to some Danish club. His wife is a former Polish Olympic team volleyball player, if I remember it right, so their daughter Caroline could have been born and raised in nearly any country where they have professional soccer leagues.

Radwanska performed better than I expected despite several shockingly bad dropshots and negative body language.

And I'm really trying to find anything interesting in Wozniacki's game but it's so passive, one-dimensional and boring it's hard to watch.

Your tautological comments are along these lines in almost every match result thread of Caroline's. I think everyone understands you don't like Caroline's game. Enough is enough, really.

Ula!:hug: This was your breakthrough tournament. I'm sad it had to end here but I kind of saw it coming.. I knew you had a chance but if you would've reduced the UE's you probably would've shocked a lot of people by making it to the QF's.. I'm upset I didn't get to watch it but keep your head up, better things in the future for this young girl. Hopefully next week in Miami! :yeah:

Congrats to Caro though.. Now make it to the SF!

you got that one right. He is a former soccer player, but that doesn't make him a tennis expert. Of course he's way better than most of the parents-coaches, but he's in no way aware of what should one do with a tennis racquet at a professional level. That's why all the "move your feet" and "put more spin" stuff just sounds too funny. :)
