Good job Aga, slight choke at the end of the match. Aleks please lose 15 pounds otherwise you will never get to those dropshots!

Job done, Aga. :yeah: Every win for her at this point is a huge confidence-booster. :) I just wish she didn't make this 4 UEs in a row serving for the match at *5-3. :o Anyway, there was no doubt she would win sooner or later.
Too bad Ola  Not her day, especially her serve was off. Seems like she didn't get over her shoulder injury yet. Her BH was rocking (especially CC), but her FH was quite dreadful.

6-1! 6-4 ;)

Pretty bad match. The first set was really poor.
Overall Aga wasn't impressive but when she was under pressure she played really good so I guess she wasn't trying really hard. And Wozniak made way too many errors.

dropshots  serve :weirdo:
Congrats, good luck against Agnes :)

in this pursuit to be the first to start the thread, would u for once make a proper title? :weirdo:

I am very pleased! Although the 2nd set was kinda clumsy, Aga showed some of her great shots, was very clever and even her serve seems better. She made like 10 drop shots and won 100% points after them :)

Should have been like 6-1 in the second but oh well, I'll take any result after the match against Stosur
Aga's dropshots were a masterpiece :worship:
As for Wozniak, I was surprised to hear that she's #31 in the world. I thought she was sth around 80 :tape: And to be honest she played like 80th player in the world. She was awful and those DFs were :tape:

No she worked on pregnancy clothes instead.

I think Aga played well. She has a tendency to lose focus (prolly daydreaming) when everything goes way too easy, thus, she got broken after winning the first set, and when she went up 5:2 in the second.

Overall, a solid performance, just please stay focused!!

Wozniak, is out of shape, too bad cause she has some nice strokes for sure, but her movement...oh dear

Wait until Stanford come in July then she will drop unless she get good results from Key Biscayne until Wimbledon.

Wozniak has had some shoulder issues. She was going to head down to the clay-court circuit but skipped it after Fed Cup and stayed home. But during that month, I don't know if she even served at all. Maybe towards the end, just before going out west.

That doesn't help, for sure. Takes your entire game with it when you can't serve.

I couldn't agree more, Wozniak had a nice short run last summer, she prolly will be back to being 80-100 after she loses those summer points. She really overuses her power, and her movement...huge liability

Even if she reaches SF she will still drop out of top 10, since Azarenka and Petrova weren;t playing last year, right?

Well, that depends on how far Victoria is going to go. Look up a difference between them in TBEs thread, he's really good at it.
4th round is 140, QF is 250, SF 450, F 700, W 1000

Aga never looked like she was under any pressure at all. At times she just totally lost concentration and completely lost interest in the match such was the ease she was winning. But when Aga needed to focus she did. The dropshot made Woziak look very bad. Aleksandra's court coverage just isn't up to par and Aga exploited this pretty cruelly. The score certainly flattered Wozniak. If Aga really wanted bagels one got the feeling she would have got them.

What the hell. I have to admit I was impressed with her win over Safarova two days ago, but now I'm just back to thinking that Wozniak is reeeaaally overrated (well at least here). I know it's just one match, but she's so unpredictable overall. One day she plays very well, and the other she plays like crap.

I wanted to watch this so bad, I'm almost glad I had to miss it :tape:.

Cool down a bit, please: Aleksandra didn't play for months or at best played very little. Under such circumstances what she achieved here is more than what one should have been expecting from her. I don't see at all how she could be overrated.

Too bad for Wozniak. Hope she has recovered from her shoulder injury.
If she can play some good tennis she has the chance to really improve her ranking as she didn't do very well before RG last year. I had she can get some good tournaments in before her Stanford points come off.

Wozniak has put on a lot of weight. Not looking good at all.

Good win for Aga though.
