Jill Crabays is in the fourth round, beating Dokic, AMG and Vaidisova after a 1-6 0-6 loss in the previous week. How is that possible.

She better show she's a real giant killer and kill Safina.

Nice win for Jill :yeah: I really wish people would give her more credit. She is charming in person, works and tries incredibly hard all the time and unlike many supposedly more talented players isn't afraid to step up and take a win against highly ranked players when they are a bit off their game - Serena and Kim will both attest to that.

Sexysova
Mar 15th, 2009, 09:59 PM
omg you can't expect she will win everything and Jill is playing pretty well and it's a huge improvement in Nicole's game, she just needs more time to deal with everything and to get all her strokes back to old technique (mainly serve) I guess she didn't have enough time to get back to her abbreviated motion.. I believe she's back anyway so shut up bitches :ras:

pepaw
Mar 15th, 2009, 09:59 PM
you cant expect nicole to be back 100% right away. she won two matches and im sure work on her serve before miami. very positive week for her overall.

I know she's back, that's clear but it's not 100% yet and it won't probably be in Miami too but as Kodat said Nicole will get back 100% within THREE MONTHS and it's only 3 weeks of their coopeartion yet.. as Kodat said she could be perfectly ready for clay-court season :)

Nicole did show me the sign of returning, but that doesn't mean she will win every match as well.

We all just have to be realistic and wait for the result to come.

Winning 2 matches is already fair enough considering she just changed her coach.

I predict that she would reach QF or SF in Miami.

Maybe by the time during Roland Garros, she's gonna be in SF or F.

Weren't you the one who in a very cocky way claimed she was back and that we should prepare for devilsova domination?

On a side note, I wonder how can someone be as moronic as me to pick Vaidisova in the suicide tennis game, when I am aware that she's been sucking for months while Craybas has produced some decent performances lately. :banghead:

Holy crap!! Jill :D:worship:

People need to give Jill a lot more credit. She's still among the top 100 players in the world at age 34, and even more so, is still there based on a game revolved completely around consistency and footspeed. It's not as though she stands in the middle of the court and pounds away winners. She's found a way to keep just as fit and agile as girls 10 or 15 years younger than her.

No one ever said she was going to be a world beater, but the brainless ballbashers on tour who pile up errors ensure that there will always be a place on tour for players like Craybas.

Her father isn't a miracle creater. Nicole now has to take things one step at a time.

She sucked up for most of the 2008 and it's just a month since she changed back.

Considering Felgate completely destroyed her, she is coming back now.

Minotaur
Mar 15th, 2009, 10:25 PM
The problem with Nicole is that her game became brainless again (she was at first however at some time she was able to fix it)

Now she just tries to hit the ball hard and she is definitely the meal for players like Craybas who can create angles and provide some variety and unpredictable moments to her game

I remember their previous match at Wimbledon.

Nicole had a lot of toubles with Jill's game then.

Today it just killed her. Simple.

If Nicole gets her old service game back, she will be very tough. Her return game seems to be better. Still not too disappointed in her performance here. A couple of wins is nothing to be sad about from her. Should have won today, but progress is great to see. :)

vadin124
Mar 16th, 2009, 02:06 AM
the fact of the matter is, few people would have expected her to win her first match at this tournament, yet alone the second one aswell...you guys should be celebrating the fact she is coming off the back of this tournament with a positive win-loss ratio at it...instead of a negative one

she beat Michaella Krajicek, who despite having a rough past year and a half, has had some decent results recently, and who, if playing well, can be a danger to anybody (she did make a Wimbledon quarterfinal)

she also beat Alona Bondarenko, a former Top 20 player and winner of a Tier II title!

so she lost to Craybas, get over it...Craybas could have played out of her mind today
