Why mention the photoshoot? her losing has nothing to do with that.

She says her knee is fine a week after she had to withdraw from a match, I don't believe her.. if her knee is fine then yeah good draw and she could win a few matches, all the best Maria. :yeah:

^^ at that signature

Inflammation can be dealt with pretty quickly with anti-inflammatory drugs. However, if the underlying cause is not taken care of, there's a fair chance it will come back sooner than later.

Anyway, that's a nice draw. Hopefully she'll be healthy enough to make the most of it.

Good luck Maria! :)

It's a good draw for Maria. She should beat Gallovits and Szavay is a winnable match. If the knee is enough of a problem to cause her to lose to Gallovits, then why play at all?

Given her knee problems, I think Maria should ease off on playing both singles and doubles at tournaments.

Good luck Maria. :)

Not a good start for Maria as Gallovits holds for 2-0 1st set despite only getting 32% of her 1st serves in.

Yeah, Maria was holding stronger throughout most of the third set (and most of the match). Just at big pressure moments like the end of the second set, end of the third set, she succumbed to the pressure.

I thought Maria would beat Gallovits, she has a very weak serve and not a lot of power on any shot. But... at least Maria doesn't seem to be injured very much.

She'll get it together eventually. It's hard to build off nothing. 1 match won this year plus all the unlucky shit she's had. If she could have won the match today that could have been the turn around she needed, now its just gonna have to come somewhere else. I still believe in her.

Yes I agree with Nikkie, Maria come though. The match could have gone either way today but Maria's lack of confidence and self-belief probably let her down. She'll get there, she justs needs a couple of wins in one tournament and then 2009 will start. Hang in there Maria, I (like Nikkie) still believe. Of course, it's always annoying to see Maria lose this kind of match, especially against someone like Gallovits, who got double-bageled by Zvonareva at this year's AO.
But there's no reason to give up on her. She's working hard even though things are not going her way at the moment. As long as she keeps tryin', I'll keep supportin'. :rocker2:

Awesome job girls!!!

I was watching Igor's match and i can't believe that he has lost,he deserved 100 times more to win this match than Ljubicic(he missed 5 MP and 14 BP:sad:)

Igor :( omg just awful so many chances wasted, Umpire didn't help either, what a moron.. This loss is gonna hurt.. but well least he has Maria to comfort him. :sobbing:

Honnestly,i admire Igor for not having destroyed 5 rackets:rolleyes: .He should have won in straight sets,Ljubicic only scored points with his serve during the 1st 2 sets...

And at the end, this stupid umpire never overruled:mad:.I don't know what do you think but it seems that Igor saw the ball out at one of his MP (4th or 5th) but he was too disgusted to protest.

Maria will have to take care of him and i hope he'll come back even stronger next week:fiery:

I always find it hard to feel sorry for Igor  He had some problems with the Umpire during the match I saw at Wimbledon. Went on to win that one though.

This is not a joke. She needs to realize that she's going in the wrong direction. Maybe a sport psychologist can help.
It's too late. I agree with you that Maria should work with a sports psychologist. But she won't. Masha's career patterns of inconsistency and underachieving are set and cannot be broken without professional intervention. There is no way Maria should lose to the players she does week in and week out. Just out of curiosity what is Kirilenko's won/loss record this year? I'm sure it's very bad.

I came to check out Maria's Indian Wells thread today and when I saw that posts were made in here today I was hoping Maria was still in the singles draw. But I could tell at first glance today's posts were about her doubles. Whoopee!

Kirinetta's match was meant to start 45 mintues ago, but hasn't. :tape:

Maybe Azarenka and Zvonareva have withdrawed since they're both in the singles semifinal?

Yeah it's been moved.

Ivanovic and Bammer were scheduled to play the third match of the day on the stadium court. The doubles match between Maria Kirilenko/Flavia Pennetta and Victoria Azarenka/Vera Zvonareva has been moved to the main court in its place.

Nikkiri

Yeah 1st was important, they're gone now.

From what I've read from someone at the match it's Flavia who was the weak link in the end.
