View Full Version : The power of Yvonne Meusburger

This is rather funny, but whenever I emulate powerful players like Serena, Lindsay and Venus, I tend to make a ton of errors. Then, I thought of Yvonne Meusburger, and started playing like her. Even though I might not hit hard, angled shots, my groundstrokes were steady and I was getting so many balls back. This is very miraculous because I actually need to think of her in order to play a consistent game. Ironic, huh?

why dont you just carve out your own game? instead of dreaming of playing like Serena or even Yvonne.....any of the players we see on tv actually hit pretty hard and courtside it looks much faster than on tv

i saw Yvonne playing Janko courtside at rod lover this yr hehe go Yvonne!!

You actually develop more consistency by emulating a player's game. The problem with me, however, is my tendency to emulate so many players when playing a match. For example, I'll decide on being Venus Williams for the entire match. Then, of course, I'll make tons of errors and go 0-3 in the first set, so I'll switch to Patty Schnyder mode and make moonballs. Of course, when my shots are being attacked, I resort to the scramble-and-make-the-fucking-shot Serena style, which tends to work quite well. When all else fails, I pray for Yvonne Meusburger to carry me through and this has worked so well.

hmmm its simple...play steady, and solid.

most matches are won and lost by unforced errors if you arent at professional level. in other words, learn to make less mistakes and you win.
