Vera was a little

But Razzano was

Never seen her play that well. Should be higher ranked.

Nearly gave away the 1st set though :help: After the missed drive volley on set point I wasn't confident :tape: But Vera gave in a little after leading in the tie-break :fiery:

Virginie's fitness was pretty questionable throughout the second set to be honest. I never knew what was going on with her but she kept hitting her shots and it worked :D Needs to work on closing out...

Good for her :)

Vera :o Gave away a pass to the final if she had been playing a little better. It wasn't terrible, but it was far from her best.

This is why i love the tour! This has to be one of the best matches this year, definitely MY personal favourite!

Unadulterated aggresion and intensity by Razzano, unrelenting, devastating and intimidating. What a match by her she should be immensely proud!

Vera really needed to attack more she was so compfortable pushing the ball and just hitting high percentage points, i mean yes that wins you points and matches but when you meet an inspired player like she met today it gets harder to win!

Thank you Razzano! That was a treat :D

Virginie played an AMAZING match

Anyone who says she shouldn't be in this SF should go and watch the fucking match.

50 winners to 35 UE, 6 aces, was 0-3* and *1-4 down the TB, saved SP too.

Was down a break in the second too.

WOW Razzano! I still rmb her upsetting Hingis in USO 06. She was really a monster, ultra-aggressive throughout and hitting with authority in this QF. Hit-or-miss really. And it was quite a beauty when it's on. Bepa just let some chances flew by but no chance to win when Razzano is playing so well.

Anyway I thought Razzano was gonna faint in the second set, she looked breathless.

Those who are not giving Razzano credit probably didn't watch it. RAZZANO WAS SO GOOD. Impressive, really impressive. Bravo Virginie :woohoo:

What a drama!!! I wouldn't dare saying it's one of the best matches of the year, but it was definitely a breathtaking drama! I love how Virginie knows herself so much, staying pretty calm after this choke at 5/5 second set to make this impressive game on serve. She knows that she will have fight against herself & her opponent obviously till the end. She went for broke on the final MP .
Vera was very passive but that was her gameplan I thought. It's true that you could think that Razzano's ratio W/UEs was going to drop at some point. All in all Vivi deserved to win for this high quality of tennis :yeah:.

Vera needs to step it up when it counts, she hasn't battled that hurdle yet but she has come a long way.

Huge congrats for Virginie! :worship: She did so well to finally close it out. Yes, Bepa played like crap, she was basically ony defending and not going for her shots hardly at all, but Virginie really came out with some incredible winners. It actually could've been 64 63 of a scoreline, but as usual she decided to choke... TB was so crazy and the last games of the 2nd. You could tell she gave her absolute all on this final BH DTL on MP.

WOW. That was probably one of the best single performances of the year, mini chokes aside. She showed everything great about the sport, about how if you play your best you can beat anyone. Some amazing winners, i have to say im glad this tournament went ahead, first Marion beating Ai on pure guts and determination, then Jie pushing Serena last night, to this amazing performance by Virginie. :) I really, really hope she makes the final, she deserves it. But why cant she play this great all the time! Some people here need to give her waaaaaay more credit for this, Vera didnt lose it, Virginie took the win.

I love to see players who aren't afraid to come into the net! Virginie was aggressive all the way through and as many people have said, if she played like this all the time she'd be so much higher ranked. She's never seemed to be afraid of playing big players - it's just a matter of her conditioning (she looks as fit as she ever has) and having a game plan. Today, she just kept coming in and hitting bh dtl's at every opportunity. Great win for her. I hope she makes the final! :D

Virginie deserved the win, despite choking when serving for the 1st set, and again when serving for the match.
She was really going for it. You don't see a player hitting 50 winners in two sets very often.
Vera, on the other hand, was not aggressive enough.
