Bartoli?

She'll lose to Cakestoli no more.. since i'm the Official Cakes Supplier of the JJ Clinic, Bartoli will be too distracted to ever beat JJ again..:lick: I have a fresh batch of cakes ready incase she makes it that far...

But then she won USO :hearts:

Anyways, now with Dinara out, only Zvonareva and herself (duh) can prevent JJ from reaching the final.

Totally herself.
Did you see when she was whining and like 20seconds later she smiled.
This girl is a schizo.

Kaia is in a good form now, JJ should beware :scared:

When Kaia is on fire she can be deadly.. I saw some of her RG 2008 matches and she was smoking winners left and right.. She had both Kuzentsova and Amelie on the ropes last year, but only for a set.. JJ should come prepared and not underestimate Kanepi and i think she'll win in 2 tight sets..

Maybe it's not called curling, but it's very similar. There are no teams, just regular player vs player, and it looks they are playing on some kind of a carpet. Players are throwing balls, the point of the game is that your balls are closer to the jack (or something like that)... ES shows that "sport" sometimes. I like it more than regular curling :o

But I love curling, especially the women's championships because the men's Canadian team is so superior to everyone else it's no fun.

You think that's the reason? I was hoping it wasn't, that it's just JJ's crazy head, because this way it might take a while before she realises what the matter is and gets back to normal.

I really do think so  She was slowly getting fitter and more muscle in her upper body during the fall, and you could see the progress she was making, because she probably was also working on her technical game. During the offseason it seems like they just wanted to work on EVERYTHING all at ONCE which is not a good thing, imho; just use common sense. That takes way too long to adjust to. I think she's sort of shocked she's not getting instant results now either, which takes away from confidence, not to mention the GS monkey on her back, the whole #1 thing, etc... It seems like she bulked her entire body up, which obviously makes her slower - I don't understand it, she just needed to work on her upper body strength and forehand, not her legs, or whatever. I also don't like her attitude about her being young, and saying her time will come, or whatever. Jelena, you're 24 at the end of this month. Come on now.

Then again, maybe I have no idea WTF I'm talking about. It's just really frustrating. I'm not even hoping for a slam this year anymore.

Jelena is just over-hitting everything. I think the girl has to realize that she'll never have as big game as some other players out there. She needs to keep beating them with her speed, accuracy and consistency.

It's like she deluded herself into thinking that she can somehow start outhitting all these girls, while the fact is her game was almost perfect during Fall of the last year. She only needed more consistency in hitting good 1st serves, some work on the second serve and focus on finishing shots in points. That's it! How it got to this point where she's making all these errors I have no idea, but I'm hopeful she'll come back to us sooner rather than later.

Unfortunately, that sounds quite possible. All this instant bulking-up talk sounded rather strange to me too, it's not something you do overnight nor something JJ really needed - just like you said. And she reached a perfect form last autumn. Suttgart/Moscow-JJ could beat anybody. I realise you can't sustain that kind of form whole year long, but it looks as if she (the coaches) suddenly tried to make a ball-basher out of JJ during the off-season. Her current game is a game of a slumping ball-basher.

Exactly! And I bloody hate her new approach to the game. There was never a time when I hated JJ's game as much as I do now.

And the weird thing is that Ana's approach to the game at the beginning of the year was defensive and it didn't work for her. This can't work for JJ either for the exact same reason - it's not in her nature to play the way she's trying to play right now.

It feels sad to watch this happen because it's like she did all the wrong things in the off-season. And she's surrounded with a pretty well known professionals which makes things even more sad. My fear is that JJ will think that it just takes time for things she worked on to come together for her, and that she may get truly disappointed with how things turned out for her. You can already see how much she hates to make those errors, she gets angry and frustrated right there on the court for everyone to see. She's started to gain some confidence in Paris, but it must be all gone after this performance...

And I want to know what Sanchez is telling her 'cos he just looks as angry and as frustrated and as clueless as JJ during her matches. What does he expect her to do? He sounded pretty confident in the off-season, wonder how he feels right now?

This was a great opportunity to at least get to the final and she has really screwed it up. In Paris she was playing OK but not great but here she is playing really badly (although I admit I only saw her first match). I think she has lost her motivation and is playing at only 50% of her usual level. She still looks slow. She needs to forget that she was ever number one and start from scratch again.

Guys, i noticed while she played in Hong Kong that something's gone wrong with her. This is just the materialisation of my worries. I wonder that nobody else has noticed that. It seems that Ian has made the best prediction. Did you know that Etcheberry almost destroyed Henin? When i saw that JJ works with him i  :tape:

Then, when i saw all those erotic pics from various magazines i knew that she’s slowly following Ana’s steps, which includes falling on the WTA list as well. And we may not forget the Serbian mentality: she reached #1 spot, and that’s where her ambition ended. I wish she can prove me wrong and do something more at Roland Garros, but this what we were watching is not promising at all. One more thing with her drives me crazy: she always says that she plays tennis because she enjoys playing, which means that she plays just for fun. When she starts playing for titles (i hate to say this, but i must) like Serena, then she’ll become a better player.

After all, i think that i'll make some break with JJ for a while. I won’t watch her matches until Roland Garros since it would be too dangerous for my health. I wish her a good luck, and to stay in the top 10 by the end of this year (if other girls allow).

As for what Associated, Stefan and Ma said - I think you're being a bit too harsh on JJ. Not because she's not that awful (she certainly is!), but because it might not be completely her fault. Her fault is when she's acting unfocused and unmotivated, but that's not the impression I got from her this season. She does get grumpy and whiny on the court but it's caused by frustration which is in turn caused by her apparent inability to play a top 10 or even top 20 game. She seems to be trying, but nothing is working. And whether it's Etcheberry's (sp? some other of berry?)fault or Sanchez's, I have no idea, but whatever the problem is I don't think it's only JJ's madness that caused it.

I've said it before, she got to #1 under still debatable circumstances...

I really think getting to #1 has made JJ realize that she has what it takes, but needs to get to the next level.Justine, in an interview last week said the same thing about JJ, "she has what it takes, but needs to take her game to another level".. JJ realizes this as well..why else did she train so hard in the off-season.. She worked on her Serve during the fall season and it showed in her results..

To me, she seems to be having a hard time dealing with the pressure and expectations..she's stopped smiling, is very irritable on court and is not really sure of her game. She does not have the confidence in her Serve, her groundstrokes or her movement..without all that JJ is doomed to mediocracy. This loss gives her a few good weeks to work really hard to get her serve and fitness back..We'll be able to make a fair assessment when the US Hardcourt season rolls around...

This is my impression as well. It was very evident in her semifinal against Amelie that she was upset that nothing seemed to be working for her.

Judging from her interviews she knows what she has to do. The problem is executing it and now she's officially in a slump. Things will probably won't get better until the clay court season, but as long as she keeps herself focused then I'm not going to panic. Well, not too much anyway.:o

I agree with this.

If only JJ got more cheap points off of her serve, the rest of her game would seem more imposing: many ballbashers would get frustrated by her retrieving the ball so much and by her having such an attackable serve. Even Momo was able to attack second serves: that is not a good sign. Momo sucks at returning serve... :o

Mental structure of people from our environment is terrible. I know our people very well. She signed some good contracts this winter, many many millions of $. I'm sure that it slowed her down mentally. She took the opportunity by the end of last year and played the best she could to reach #1 spot. As she said: nobody can take it away from her. One day when she hangs her racquets on the wall that #1 spot will stay in her biography. There is only one thing that can motivate her now: winning a GS title, just to shut all those dirty mouths up.

The same happened to Ana. She won a GS title and became #1, and got 10 million $ from Addidas for that title. And what happened after that? I think that the same thing is happening with JJ now. She did not learn anything from Ana's case. Just give that much money to our kids and they will :weirdo:.

Of course, she had tough preparations in December before she signed all those fantastic contracts, but she didn't know that with her new body she won't be able to play like she did before. She can't play aggressive tennis. She makes too many unforced errors. That's what her opponents were doing when she was beating them. Now we have an opposite situation. She makes UEs, and her opponents use it. Naive and :silly: girl thought: "When I get bigger and stronger body, I'll play aggressive tennis, and nobody will be able to beat me". I know exactly what was in her head. That's why she had so tough preparations.

Now she will have 3 or more weeks off. Very bad for her. She is one of those like Vera, she must play more. She should go to Bollettieri's Academy right now and start working immediately. I really do hope that this is just a bad start of the season. Of course, she's really a cute girl and she won my heart, and I'll be her fan forever, and I want that GS title more than anything else.

I have one proposal. If she reads these pages we should write under our clinic titles WE WANT A GS TITLE!!! Maybe she'll move...

Well, Kanepi served really well in the first set and JJ could not break her at all. Furthermore, JJ screwed up a few of her serves and that's it. The same thing went on in the second set and after 4-0 Kanepi fell psychically, and JJ managed to get to 5-5. If the Maria in the sig is of Sharapova variety, I think you can always stick with her. She may be injury-prone but is otherwise quite normal. :)

Your Jelena, Maria, Daniela, even Chakvetadze and Vaidisova have the same problem that professional tennis can't accept they are  :inlove: :hearts:

If i have to choose between the WS i would rather switch to Venus. Fortunately Ana's getting better and i still have not to be that extreme. But, it is very interesting! Your faves are all in love, and currently suck! Incredibly! You're surely doing something to them telepathically.

Please sort things out soon JJ... we need you back..:kiss:

What the fuck is going on with JJ? She lost, & the report I saw suggests that she thinks she LOST the match rather than her opponent perhaps playing BETTER than her on the day to win.

SORT YOURSELF OUT JJ. That includes whatever is going on in that head of yours - too full of waterpolo?

Seems like Ana is almost back to her best. Just thought you might like to know! When JJ was playing well Ana was in a slump and now the positions are going to be reversed. Let's hope Ana gets to number one again because I am sure that would motivate JJ.

Well, now she'll spend one full month with Mladjo since he's suspended from his club. Jesus Christ! There'll be scratching and scratching :rolls:, and than she'll lose in the first round to anybody, and will be "ashamed how she played and how she beat herself" in the first round. :haha:

Since IW is a big tournament if Bye's injured and if she withdraws then she'll be replaced by lucky loser, which means that JJ will lose in the R1 anyways
