Vaidisova & Chakvetadze.
Solid Top 10 players not long ago, now really struggling.. any reasons?

chak has 2 main problems, the limbo she now plays tennis interms of styles, she wants to attack more but it ends in errors then when she tries to fall back on her old angles percentage tennis she struggles because shes not used to it now. 2nd she is struggling with confidence, she right now can only win sets by huge margins as she doubts herself when a match gets close.

as for nicole no comment.

When was Vaidisova ever a solid Top 10 Player?

And frankly, I find both players extremely overrated.

Vaidisova was a top 10 player for over 40 weeks, with the results to back it up. Sounds pretty solid to me.

I'd say that right now Vaidisova is in a much worse state than Chakvetadze

Chakvetadze is ina transition. She had gone as far as her old game could take her. Into the top ten, but no chance of winning a slam. Just like the power players eventually overwhelmed Hingis, Chakvetadze wasn't going to be successful inthe long term with that game.

I have no idea what Vaidisova's propblem is. Well, yes I do. Too much c*ck socializing, not enough practice.

Agreed. She's won 5 games in her last two matches. This with a serve that should be one of the best in tennis. At a minimum, even if she were a mental midget, she ought to be losing matches in tiebreaks. It's more than injury or illness or lost confidence--she clearly doesn't care. I'd like to hear her say that the way she is playing is bothering her, that she is putting in more time on the practice court and/or the gym, committing herself to improving, or even changing coaches again. But she just goes from one disaster to the next, seemingly totally oblivious to the fact that she's wasting all that talent.

Nicole's ready to become Radek's (supposed) wife (until Radek finds someone new).

Everyone in WTA should have a restraining order against him. :help:

Chakvetadze's game went downhill after she had that home invasion, which I think screwed her up psychologically. Hopefully she'll recover from that soon and be back to her normal self.

Vaidisova I think has lost interest in tennis.

I agree with these comments. I know a friend of Anna and he has said that she's still recovering from the frightening incident from two off-seasons ago. She was very happy to leave 2008 behind, but her game has not looked fresh or confident yet in the new year. I'm curious to see her against Dokic.

Here's what I think... Le Worm (a.k.a Sexyback Radek) had given her too much of a good time with his 12-inch "stick"... and now, she's so addicted to it, she purposely lose games early so that she can "jam that stick up her private sanctury" for days.

Or simply put - "I want to lay my seeds in you...."

She was Top 10 for a few weeks in 2006 and in 2007, and always barely :p

So they are both mentally shot.

Chakvetadze should go back to her old game, she would KILL Dokic if she plays anywhere near like she used to.

I think the two are quite different. I believe that Nicole could turn this whole slump around if she becomes motivated and shows willing to put in the hard work required. But she has simply lost interest in tennis and will probably retire before the age of 21. After this point, she may become motivated again, but it will be too late (a lot like Lucic, Dokic etc)

Chakvetadze is just a moose, and unfortunately mooses can't play tennis

Considering Jelena could bounce back after a streak of loss in 2006, I hope Nicole can bounce back.
