I have no idea how something like that could happen. It's not "Wow Kateryna". It's "OMG AGA". Cuz Katya Bondarenko isn't capable of beating a player as Aga. Aga beat Aga today I suppose. How did that happen? I'd like to know myself.

I like Aga as well, but your comment is a little bit biased :tape:

Kateryna has a very nice game IMO, good groundstrokes and a strong serve.

Congrats to Bondarenko for sure. I was shocked to see Radwanska out tho .... bad luck:( But we are all human, sometimes we have bad days and the opponent can have a fantastic one at the same time ....then things like that do happen ...oh well.

Can't go around having these kind of losses..I guess we should just pencil it as a bad day at the office? But a close eye on her during the majors to see if this a incident or a pattern.

Well, she's only 19 if I'm correct. Let's give her some time first. She has talent you cant really teach easily. Consistency and power can always be gained if those things pose a problem for her in the future.

The conditions were awful.. and she'll have to learn how to deal with them better. It's all part of becoming an experienced top player.

She's [Radwanska] definitely not overrated and is a future slam winner.

:scared:

After seeing today's match, I'm more convinced than ever that Radwanska will never win a slam. Barring some miracle draw of course.

She might as well have been playing with a wooden racquet today considering how she was just utterly incapable of hitting an outright winner from practically anywhere in the court.

That's my thing with Radwanska..too dependant on errors to score points.

I was surprised how well Kataryna played. A well deserved win.

Aga was not present on the court at all. She hit 50+ Unforced Errors which is probably a record for her, normally it's more like 10 in the whole match.

Her serve is still crap and she'd better start acknowledging it. Also, why does she go for the drive volleys when she can't create any power on them?? She should wait and let the ball bounce and then go for a wrong-footer.
At times I felt like I was watching a player outside top-200 but I know it's not Aga's normal level. Hope she comes back strong in Paris next month.

Of course not. One has three major titles, the other has none. One is a ball-basher, the other is not. One has a career-threatening shoulder injury, the other does not.

Agnieszka had an absolutely horrible day yesterday. That third set was beyond dismal. I can only hope that she does not dwell on this loss, but instead looks at it pointedly and improves her game.

And Aga is not a poor man's Jankovic. I think Aga is more comparable to Hingis than Jelena.

I confess to be delighted with this result. I'm not a fan of Radwanska's style of play - or is that lack of style of play.

And I have seen her live too, last year in the Eastbourne final against Petrova (needless to say I was supporting Petrova that day).

I want to see players going for their shots, taking controlled risks and been aggressive, Radwanska wins by boring her opponents to death, not the sort of player I want to see in the top ten or 5 over a long period of time.
