I like her style. I alsmost passed out when I saw her serve and volley. She also has a nice serve and has great change of pace shots. Her one hand backhand isn't so bad either. Is she old or some young kid? I like her game style. I'm hopin she's new cause of her style of play.

She's 27 playing her 3d grandslam maindraw. And i have to agree, that slice is very tricky and she's got power. Very tricky first round for elena, she really needs to step it up.

She's nothing like Davenport. If anything she's more like Amelie but with more pace. 27 is old in tennis. Damn I really hoped she was young as serve and volley is a dying breed in tennis. A dying breed that is grandslam worthy. Why coaches don't go back to this style is beyond my comprehension. I really like her shot making and game. She just ran out of mental gas and mental stamina.

Yeah, she gave Mauresmo a tough time at the USO in 2006 I think. Also, she plays a lot of challengers, she should really move up to the WTA tour like International events more frequently.

You say fiesty finesse player.

I say evil monster. It's all about perspective.

(Seriously, great fight, but I'm glad my girl is through to the next round).

Well she serve and volleyed today, but before this when I had seen her, she was unimaginably hopeless at net :o

LOL:lol: You´re so right. When i turned my tv on and saw the girl hit loads of low slices, the 1handed backhand and high balls i was thinking: DAMNNNN that's gonna be a tough firstrounder. It kinda reminded me of justine-danilidou first round at wimbledon 05. :scared:

But the golden goddess whipped the evil monster in the end, bless her.
