It was a very interesting/emotional press conference. She said she suffered severe depression for two years and had to sought through a lot of family issues. she was pretty much crying saying she didn't think most people understand what today's win meant to her.

i might be stating things that have been read already but I was very happy to see Dokic opening up. I was never a huge fan when she was big but really felt for her during her slide.

i think those who've loved mocking her should really try to watch the interview if possible.

that depression state is still visible. when my father saw her today during the match, he said she wasn't that pretty she used to be. her face changed a lot. I hope she can be back on her best tennis.

Havent seen it, but I read the script of it.
It seemed pretty emotional, she talked about some personal stuff afterall, and how much this meant to her.

It's good to see her talking about all the stuff that was bothering her as it seems she really solved her problems this time. Before, she was always saying that she didn't want to talk about her personal issues.

 That has to be the most random post of the day. "Her depression is still visible: My father said she wasn't that pretty".

WTF ?!?!?

I have a feeling pretty people get depressed too !

Right on depression doesn't take looks into account and it can hit anyone. I wouldn't wish depression on anyone but I'm not surprised that Jelena is talking about going through it with everything she's been through I hope she makes something not only of this Australian open but her whole comeback she deserves a happy ever after story.

Lol, depressed people do have a different look on their face, same thing when my friend was depressed, he had this weird stare, looked empty and looked quite un-taken-care-of, that's what he/she probably meant.

That was pretty sad to watch.

I hope her comeback goes well. It's great to hear her say that she loves Tennis again, and that it makes her happy. :worship:

I was willing her to win every point today. i also thought she looked a little sad and kept hoping for a win so i could see a smile, it finally came but not for long...

I saw some of her press conferences whe she was younger, and man was she picky. She went on a few times about how she wasnt pampered enough by tournament staff, how she wasnt picked by up by her limo at exactly the right time.

Then she had to grow like a normal person when her tennis suffered. I guess it was hard for her.

I hope she is ok now
