I am interested to know your guys opinion on this, because personally I think she can go really far.
If this girl is playing her best tennis, I wouldn't be surprised to see her in a SF or even final.

What are your thoughts?

4r. Yeah she is in good form and has a great ball basher game, but she won't get past Serena. Tough draw

With a better draw she could probably go further. But I see her losing in the 4R to Serena.

Oh, that's true. I didn't know she'd be playing Serena. I probably should have checked that.
But you never know! She's in the best form she's ever been in and would be feeling extra confident from her Brisbane win.

I could see her reaching 4th round, but she could also easily lose in the first. Petra is even younger than her ans just won a tournament last week.

With a better draw she could've gotten past the 4R.

But it's hard to see Serena losing in a 4R of a Slam.

IMO, if tomorrow she crushes Petra, I will see her reach to the SF :D

3r, Momo will beat her.

She was stretched by Gajdsova in both the sets and Safarova in Brisbane.

4th round at least. But I think Serena will be too strong for her, with three matches under her belt.

Semis. She just DESTROYED Kvitova (who just won Hobart)

Vika is one of my top favs, but a 4th round with Serena would be a great match. Serena would really have to be moving well and have a good serving day because right now Serena has made it more equal than it's been in a long time. Vika is playing with alot of winners, and few errors. I still think Rena would get her but they played a good match here least year.

If she dares to beat Ree :fiery:

4th round. There's a little roadblock called Serena Williams standing in the way there

Ha! What did I tell ya'll?
Well I didn't really tell you... but I meant to include that I think people underestimate her abilities too much.

WOOOO YEAH

So she might not beat Serena... but you never know. She quite possibly has the same amount of firepower/aggressiveness.

lol I know. She is a very consistent hitter though, and can direct a lot of her shots if she gets started. Plus I think she has a good game in general.

Vika tends to destroy her lower ranked opponents lately. But tends to suck against top10 players as well. She'd got something like 1:11 win/loose ratio against current top10 last year, which is very bad for a 14th ranked player.

So it depends on how she can handle the pressure in later rounds.

She ll win , i think she has a better shot over JJ and Ana Ivanovic

That's true she tends to give authority to the higher-ranked players. So you can only imagine what she'd be like against Serena.
I hope her Brisbane win will give her the confidence to push harder this time, somehow.

Thankyou! Now I don't feel crazy for thinking the same thing.

Oh, and definitely Ana. Anyone Top 20 could beat her lately.

Either 4th round(Serena) or to the semifinals(winner of Venus/Elena)

4th round is almost a given. Who knows maybe she can challenge Serena. She's playing awesome tennis down under this year.

well Vika is on fire. I saw 4 of her matches in Brisbane, and she hit hard, her serve was in the high percentages, she fought and kept the UEs down. She is a lot more consistant than a year ago.
I don't believe Garbin will bother her in R2. She outplayed Mauresmo in Zurich 2008: 62 61, and I have a hard time imagining Momo beating Vika this time.
Then the fourth round. Tough
Serena hasn't played her best this year IMO, she should have beaten Wozniacki more convincinly, the loss to Dementieva shouldn't have been that much had Serena played as we know she can. In addition, Serena wasn't all that convincing in the first round of the open either, so based on those things Vika has a great chance BUT it's Serena, she is able to turn into a mean tennis machine when needed - esp. at slams.
Also as mentioned Vika's head to head with top 10 players aren't that impressive. However she did beat both Aga and Dementieva in Stuttgart, hasn't been beaten by a top10 player since the olympics.
If she beats Serena I think she will win the QF as well, so it is either R16 or SF.

VIKA?

mm well she's playing great hitting a lot of winners and not doing too much UE's so I think if she plays her best tennis against Serena she can beat her:)

good luck Vika:D
