WOW Caro :worship:

What a match point!

Much closer than the score shows.
Shahar was 2/18 on BPs. 10 of them wasted in UEs she can usually put in her sleep :o
Work on that play on big points, Shahar. :(

Congrats Caroline :) did what she had to do.

Amazing winner from Caro :D

Shahar is making way too many errors for her style of play. Good things is that a lot of her errors were just a few inches long on the baseline so hopefully eventually those will start falling in.

Caroline :) :yeah:
she's in a good spot in draw to go far

Yap, the scoreline is not showing how close was the match. Shahar lost so many BP that could turn the match. Caroline was solid and very good when she really had to get the big points. Shahar was playing very good, if she will have better draws she will back to the top 30, right now she is paying the price of her slump in the ranking....

Too bad she had to play her doubles partner in the first round. She should win that 2nd round too pretty easily.

shahar almost came back in the second set with all those 0-40's but looks better than she did 3 weeks ago.

Caro played the bigger points better hence the scoreline. Peer with too many errors, when it mattered most.

Caro :)

Kept her cool when Peer fought back a little in the second and the Israeli fans carrying on

I really want this to be her breakout tournament

I'm sure she wouldn't want any breakouts in this tournament! ;)

Ok bad joke, but the way she's playing now, don't bet against her reaching the QF or even the semis this year!

Didn't Peer make it to the rd of 16 back in 2007?

Peer made the QF in 06 I believe. She is a horrible player and her come ons when she was like 63 52 down were laughable..and the israeli fans heckling Caroline between serves and after faults was so ridiculous...it was obvious they had no idea about tennis.

Caro will beat Ana and make the quarter finals. Has a chance against Safina as well.

Certainly a great chance to make the QF's with Ana playing poorly.

I first saw Caroline play at Wimbledon last year against JJ and was really impressed with her. Since then she keeps getting better and better, the top 5 is beckoning.

Good win for Caroline, but let's not get too excited--She was supposed to win that match!

As someone mentioned before, Shahar had many BPs that she couldn't capitalize on. Shahar - you are a grinder - you can't make that many unforced errors! Plus, wear a looser top, or lose a bit of your tummy!

Like many have said, i expect caroline to make her first grandslam quarterfinal here. I just don't see ana beating her in the shape she's in. This will be her breakout tournament.

I really hope to see Ana vs. Caroline in the 4th round :lick:
