Fantastic job, Galina! I would really wish that this kind of thing would happen more often and she could finally reach a much more pleasant ranking .....some of you might remember last year in Doha, where she took away a set from Maria Sharapova and played stunning tennis.

But Galya is a great player - first player to take a set from Masha last year. All the efforts of Lindsay, ElenaD, Justine, Jelena, and Ana couldn't do that. :yeah:

her management is now looking for a replacement coach.

It was finished by 6 am in the morning in Poland so I couldn't even force myself to post a comment.

I'm so, so proud. Galina really needed this with 0-2 record this year and still having some problems with finding her serve. Following the SB it seems that she choked only once in the beginning of the 2nd set, suffering some ups and downs there (2 double faults and 2 aces in one game). Hope she can build up from this win, cuz she can do even better. 4 aces in 3set match is far from her peak, and she couldn't dream of a better opponent in 2nd round. Pity we don't have statistics for winners and UE, and we won't have for the next match either.

If she defeats Knapp, she will probably establish her new career high. GL!

(and it will really help the thread if you post the score, iSzavay. All in all, it's not that embarrassing :) )

No, Kucharszky was (one of) her coach since the beginning. (Well, not the very beginning, but long ago. Since she was 12 if i'm correct.) He became her only coacth lately, though.

Her management - if you mean her local management, 'cause her international is Octagon - has been critisized for a while. Maybe they're suck too, but frankly, I don't think they're the problem. Managements neither do coaching, nor can help if something wrong with her in the head. I think Agi's problem is mostly mental. She'll recover sooner or later, but first, she needs to eliminate the real problems. Maybe a new coach will help her. Btw, according to the local news, Octagon is on finding the new coach, so he/she may will be a known name.
