I am watching men's match and it's very hard to hit a winner. I would say a little slower than the year end championships

Im would say they arent really going for their shots though....

Roddicks up 4-0, hes not really hitting lines, and no need too, plus that guys pretty quick.....

yeah Roddick isn't really hitting the ball that hard, and he's hitting w/ a lot of spin so it isn't really penetrating the court.

looks about as slow as last year.

I'm watching Roddick's match. The court looks so slow that it's putting me to sleep.

Wrong....In Ana's match they're hitting harder and faster and I can assure you Ana can not out hit Roddick....

Roddick's opponent is making too many errors but Roddick's serve is not there yet. Maybe it's the 1st time they play, Roddick didn't really go for his shots at the moment

1) They use different balls
2) Men hit with spin, women hit flat; flatter shots look like they're going faster.

you sure about that? I know they do at the Us Open, and yes guys use more spin, because guys are faster.... Women are MUCH slower than men on a court..therefore as i said the men do more set up to hit their winners than the women do. And Also since the women are slower it'll look like the balls moving alot faster as well.

It's just early on. Once these courts are roughed up a bit, they'll speed up. The courts seem to take well to flat and slice, and aren't too kind to heavy topspin. The women should be fine since none of them hit with the kind of topspin that the men do.

I had the same impressions regarding how the court take different spins. I think the surface is actually very fair to all types of players.

Yeah I noticed that. Maybe he's bored or afraid. Yeah the courts are slower, its weird. I feel like its a slow indoor court kinda feel on the main courts. Not sure about the outlying ones though.

Hopefully they speed up once they are worn through a little. Fingers crossed!
