Wow Vee was playing really good, and JJ was looking a little off. I don't feel like JJ was playing her best at all, she was not as quick , and was missing a ton of shots. Vee was looking great, but she looks beatable. So if some one take her out of the AO it wil be a hard match the way she is playing. Also I hope JJ will be back to old self by the start of the AO.

Thanks! It was a great match! JJ wasn't playing too badly, Venus seemed so focused. I am sure both will do well at AO and i wouldn't be surprised if we had a rematch of this on the Last Saturday.

I loooove that match...for obvious reasons  but Vee was really focussed that day especially in that 6th game she was determined not to be broken, saving 4 MPS. To be fair JJ wasn't too bad, of course started off really badly, but had her nice winners too. Vee just outclassed her, by quite a big margin, that's all.

Jankovic looks the same, I just think she tried to play an agressive tennis, and here the result, she is not good in this field, since when JJ tries to save break points playing offensively:lol:

Horrible play from Jankovic. Let's hope she is back to her old self at the AO.

Venus will be hard to beat, if she plays this way at the Aus Open.

JJ was off (body adjustment, flu, trying to play aggressive) and it was just an exo.

BUT, Venus outclassed her at least on that day in that match and by far.

I don't think JJ played as badly as first reported ---and I also don't see much of a change in her appearance  Anyway, I' hoping this Venus or better shows up in Melbourne.

28 y/o Venus destroyed peak jankovic easily, She got destroyed and decided to whine about how life isnt fair and how Venus always wins her challenges by a small margin and JJ doesnt

I think that this tournament was the most consistent I've ever seen Venus play.

She was fit, she was fresh, she wasnt injured, she had had a terrific off season with all the training at nick's, she looked in form and she was trying very hard to win, all the whining about how life is not fair proves that she wanted to win this desperately. She just got outplayed ,there is nothing delusional about it.

Exactly! I loved how she said before the match how she trained so hard, feels like she's the number one player and the player to beat and then gets blown off the court, :rolls:

i support william sisters but i can see how JJ is mad. She has trained all off season the williams admit to only training like 12 days before the AO, and yet this result. JJ did try, I finished watching it. She was over powered

JJ can beat error Venus all day. This Venus is kinda scary and JJ wasnt going to win even if she had a 100-0 head-to-head. Just one of those days when u just get out of the way!

It looks like Jelena went up one or two cup sizes if you ask me... Guess we know the truth about what she was doing during her off season.

Like a poster said back in another thread Venus was retooling her game and that's why she had so many losses and it all came together in YEC, and the Hopman Cup and her other tournament.

anyone else notice how Jelena stopped play in the middle of a point by asking a ball boy if a shot that Venus hit at the baselin had landed out. It was almost exactly like Wimbly '06

Jelena was just helpless over there. :help:sorry! The first few games she definitely looked flat footed.

I couldn't tell whether she just got off to a slow start, wasn't expecting the Venus on slaught, or was just outclassed. ah well, just an exo and she is certainly more competitive than that against Venus.
