Sic transit gloria mundi - nobody bothered to start this thread until now.

It's Bremond.

First two rounds are very winnable for a Nicole that is in form. Svetlana is struggling with injury-related things right now, so that could work out for Nicole. 4th round.. Aga. Winnable for Nicole. Aga is going to be under pressure. Serena doesn't look in good form, and might be upset (Serena would be QF). Who knows? If the Nicole that has earned a spot in our signatures shows up, I think she could easily make the second round and have a shot at a DEEP push.. but I also wouldn't be surprised with a 2-6, 1-6 loss in the first round. Nicole is truly a dark horse. I hope she realizes where her career could be headed with a bad result here. Start the comeback NOW, Nicole.

Didn't she lost to Bremond last year?

This thread is brimming with excitement.

Didn't she lost to Bremond last year?

USO, 5 and 3.

Bremond can hit one of the fastest 1st serves in the women's game. Old skool attacking player or junkballer forced to rush the net because her groundstrokes suck depending on how you look at it.

I predict she'll win R1, then bomb out to Alona B. in R2.

Hope I'm wrong.

Please prove us wrong by winning some matches, Nicole. :awww:

I have absolutely no idea whether Nicole will win her first round today. It's like tossing a coin. More than one Nicole could turn up, maybe Good Nicole, or Bad Nicole, or Extremely Bad Nicole. Or maybe all three, depending on which set you look at. But I know that she could be capable (maybe in another year) of getting to the final or winning the AO one day. Even in her recent form she could spark up and make a big run. Or she could... turn into a puddle of gooey marshmallow in the Aussie heat. :help:

This is getting really bad.

She should take a break or consider a different career.

If our commentator is right then Felgate was reported to say that Nicole's performances are absolutely okay, but we (the Czech people) are consistently too negative and always complain about something. Mind you that Felgate most probably doesn't know anything about Czechs. Sad thing is that Vaidisova herself says that too. So she probably doesn't even realize that something is wrong. Or maybe she does but sees it as a temporary inconvenience, which will disappear one day, just like bad weather.

I wouldn't take too much from Nicole saying that these performances ar OK or just part of a transition or whatever. Although Nicole's game may not be there anymore, I'm sure she still remembers all of her media training from Nick B's.

Giving the usual stock answers for these sort of game related questions was something she did even when she still cared. It's probably easier for her this way anyway.

I don't think this is a learned phrase. More likely it's what she really thinks. She defacto disregards any critical voices coming from our media or whomever else saying that we are just too negative. If she and Felgate keep this approach then let's begin to pray for her. I personally wouldn't mind a couple of months of sucking, that may happen when players change coaches, but it's almost a year.

She should take a break or consider a different career.

I think it's clear that she's already thrown away her career. Now she's merely impersonating (badly) a pro player so that she can collect whatever she can still get out of her sponsors who were foolish enough to sign contracts without a "terminal suckitude" bailout clause.

See post above. She thinks of nothing other than keeping up with this BS until she gets called on it. Felgate goes along with it because he's her enabler, and is probably getting a cut of the last remaining profits she's currently collecting. Nobody could possibly be that delusional.

Did Nicole spoke with the media after the match? any comment?

No comments after the match.
I agree with the idea that Nicole is just getting the last she can out of she sponsors and out of her main draw losses. I think after she has to qualify and isn't getting enough of a cash-flow, she will call it quits for a while.
