Ana. I like her and want her to defend her RG title.

That said, I am NOT interested in her necessarily doing well at Aus Open because: 1)she beat Venus last year and 2)if she loses early and Venus does well, she'll be back in the top five!

Jan 12th, 2009, 09:59 PM
How could I have forgotten slumpanovic

Jan 12th, 2009, 10:00 PM
Serena. It was devastating to see her win only one major last year

Jan 12th, 2009, 10:00 PM
omfg :sob:

Nicole for sure. 6-1 6-1 to Santangelo isn't a slump, it's practically a retirement announcement. :tape:

Jan 12th, 2009, 10:00 PM
Serena is not in a slump Demska, my silly, silly, silly little friend.

I think Vaidisova's slump is one of the goddamn worst I've ever seen. The raw potential of the girl is insane. Such a waste.

Szavazay and Ivanovic WILL recover to one degree or another, and neither is doing awfully at the moment.

Jan 12th, 2009, 10:01 PM
Daniela, we'll see tonight though if she's semi out of it, she had a good convincing win over Klara but tonight should test how close she is to competing with a top 10er.

Jan 12th, 2009, 10:01 PM
Mods please change S. Williams to Ivanovic :)

Jan 12th, 2009, 10:02 PM
and add Hantuchova :D

Jan 12th, 2009, 10:04 PM
Serena is not in a slump. Right now I feel bad for Ana and I hope she can make some noise at the AO.

Jan 12th, 2009, 10:10 PM
Vaidisova without a doubt. Not even because I am a huge fan of her, but because of her attitude. Sure Agnes has some disappointing results; sure AnnaC can blow any lead; sure Ana can lose to some odd match-ups(Julie Coin); sure Daniela had a disappointing year last year, but none of these can compare to Nicole's past 10 months. She just has the worst attitude on court. Those other girls are out there giving it their all, winning games, and losing close matches. Nicole on the other hand goes out on court looking lost, doesn't appear to care, has no fire power, and doesn't seem to be doing ANYTHING to change it. That lack of effort is what makes her slump the most disgraceful. Hopefully 1-6, 1-6 versus Santaneglo is the bottom. :help:
Good luck to all of them this year.

Jan 12th, 2009, 10:17 PM
Ana no doubt. There isn't as much pressure this year as she is not number 1 anymore.

Jan 12th, 2009, 10:18 PM
Szavay she was hated on before she even made the top 15 and now she's become irrelevant it would be funny to see her go on a run and shoot up the rankings

Ana will be fine she won a Tier II beating two top ten players while in a slump

Jan 12th, 2009, 10:19 PM
Its almost two years since Vaidisova was in the AO SF, she could have won a slam by now with that form. But instead shes #51. :tape:

Jan 12th, 2009, 10:21 PM
Sveta !!!

Ivanovic will get it together eventually.

Vaidisova is the one I'm beginning to wonder about. Which is a bit of a shame.

Jan 12th, 2009, 10:21 PM
Sun TianTian :tears:

Jan 12th, 2009, 10:47 PM
Kutzenova and Vaidisova

Jan 12th, 2009, 10:56 PM
Ana. I want to see her contending for the big titles again. But she'll get there. I'm sure of that

Nicole is just a mess. That's a lot of promise that is being thrown out the door

I would like to see Daniela playing better too. It's not fun watching her go out in 1st and 2nd rounds

Jan 12th, 2009, 11:00 PM
Vaidisova - She's Ivanovic with a better serve and a lesser temperment. In fact, Ivanovic is a really good example of (IMHO) relatively limited talented playing within itself. WHen she doesn't ty to overhit, she's vey effective.

Best example of this, Davenport. Slow, not particularly agile, but she knows what she is, and what she can do. Seve with power and precision, great footwork, and thus goundstrokes with power and precision, and she knows when she going to get a shot ball, and can put away a volley when she gets that short ball. Everybody wants to be able to do the things Venus and Seena can do, but, with a LOT of practice, you can learn to do the things Davenport does. (Not a that level, obviously, but you get my drift.)

Kuznetsova and Mauresmo

Safarova. :sobbing:

Excellent analysis :weirdo:

Ivanovic's forehand when on is the most devastating weapon in the game. That shot alone is more talented than Vaidisova :spit:

I'm worried about Nicole. I really see her doing a Dokic-like nose dive :sobbing:

Jan 13th, 2009, 12:07 AM
Nicole without a doubt, it´s the most disappointing, because she has such a great game, so powerful... but I still think she will come back to the top 10 sometime!
Ridiculous is that Ana is in the poll, she just won Linz last year, she had some injuries... she´s not in a slump, you can´t compare her to the other players in the poll!
Maybe that loss to Jankovic at the YEC could be seen as a slump, but Ana will rebound at the Australian Open!

Jan 13th, 2009, 12:10 AM
Vaidisova. That girl should be well inside the top 10.
Not losing 1&1 to Santangelo.

Szazay had onf half of a season. That's all.

Jan 13th, 2009, 12:19 AM
All are disappointing.I'd much prefer a strong tour with newcommers forcing the issue in slams (and elsewhere) than to see players slumping.Out of these probably Vaidisova (cause even if she was overhyped, the girl had still some potential).Ana had to deal with injury and new kind of pressure. She'll get over it.

Jan 13th, 2009, 12:21 AM
Nicole: The most potential of the lot.

Jan 13th, 2009, 12:24 AM
for me personaly its chak, i wouldn't mind her losing matches if she was being outplayed, but shes losing because her nerve and brain are totaly shot. its almost laughable to see how many 3 set matches shes lost lately.

Jan 13th, 2009, 12:24 AM
nicole....ana is a bit hit or miss which can turn into a good run at anytime...nicole is just, miss :o

Jan 13th, 2009, 12:24 AM
Vaidisova :tears:

Jan 13th, 2009, 12:25 AM

Jan 13th, 2009, 12:27 AM
Vaidisova. In 2007, i thought she would have won a slam by the end of 2009 and now it looks like it will be a miracle if she makes the top 10 this year.

Jan 13th, 2009, 01:22 AM
Out of those players listed, I think peak Vaidisova (flashback to peak off season threads ) is the best player. She achieved all of her best results before her 18th birthday, unlike the rest. She should be challenging for grand slams right now with her talent, but she just doesn't seem to care. Yes, the other girls are all disappointing too, but at least they seem to give it their best effort. Its just so disappointing that Nicole could turn this whole slump around if she put her mind to it, but shes not motivated enough.

Jan 13th, 2009, 01:29 AM
Nicole......... from being one of the next stars/slam potential to a complete mess in about a year :help:

Jan 13th, 2009, 01:35 AM
vaidisova - she needs to lose froglips radek...he's a curse i tell ya!

hanutchova also :(

Safarova. :sobbing:

Me too.

Szavay runs second.

Jan 13th, 2009, 01:51 AM
Ivanovic's forehand when on is the most devastating weapon in the game. Now that is absurd. Have you seen Serena's serve in the last nine years? Even measured against other forehands, Ivanovic's is only as good as her ability to run down the ball and set up to hit it. And she's slow. Venus' forehand isn't as good, but she reaches, and returns, balls every game that are winners against Ivanovic. That shot alone is more talented than Vaidisova Your idea of talent is severely limited by your fandom.

Look at Ivanovic's record since Roland Garros. (And at Roland Garros she only beat one top ten player.) She didn't beat a top eight player since RG. And yet it not like her forehand isn't working. It's just that she doesn't get to hit it.

Jan 13th, 2009, 01:57 AM
Definitely Nicole.

It is sad to see her losing all the time and free falling down the rankings.

Jan 13th, 2009, 02:03 AM
 Nicole... don't know what to say... I'm just so disappointed

Jan 13th, 2009, 02:05 AM
Nicole Vaidisova

still can't believe how she can play this badly tennis now, with the huge talent she has
Does she even have a coach now? Someone needs to tell her what she did wrong in the past 2 years :fiery:

Jan 13th, 2009, 02:06 AM
At least the other ladies are in the Top 25, Nicole is 41 and spiraling downward.
