Madison defeated Valeria Solovieva and should be right around 50 in the world in the ITF Junior Rankings..I see a very bright future for her as she is extremely talented. Great Job Madison!

Wow , she's only 13 years old. I'll have to look her name up on You Tube and see if there are any vids of her playing :bounce:.

That's very promising albeit right now any 18&U tournament in USA is bound to be rather weak. Most top juniors are in Australia/NZ...

But that aside the next generation of American players (17 un under) looks promising. So many are doing well in juniors that chances are at least some will be good on WTA tour too.

It is absolutely amazing to think that there are currently only 4 American women in the top 100. I remember when almost half the top 100 was American. It might even have been over 50%.

But it does look the rock bottom has been hit and from here on out it can only get better for US tennis. There do seem to be more good young America girls coming up now than I can remember for a very long time. And I am sure it is just a matter of time before some of these girls start making it to the main tour.

Think in 10 years time the game could be dominated by Larcher de Brito, Laura Robson, Sachia Vickery and Madison Keys.

A surprising number of US juniors are doing well lately and even ones as young as Keys and Vickery (both just 13). Madison took out seeded players in almost every round so she earned her keep against girls four and five years older than her - very impressive.

The Coffee Bowl is in Costa Rica. Also, the top two seeds for this tournament are both in the top 20 in the ITF rankings (12 and 17 respectively) so the tournament was indeed fairly strong.
