James said he would make it sticky, but it would be closed. I will post all the links in the first post, (I will try to find as many as I can and people can PM more to me) and if I'm ever unavailable or you wanna chat, there's always the livescore threads in the tourney forums. I thought it seemed like a good idea, but I wanted people's opinions before doing it, I will be taking votes for 1 day then decide :)

The livestream thread would be at the top of the GM page marked "Important"

Like I predicted from the start, that thread became far too clustered with a bunch of people discussing the matches instead of the livestreams. I proposed to have a thread each week which would certainly cut out a lot of the excess posts but this idea is a good one too.

what if a new livestream needs to be added later? will the sticky be open?

Good idea. I go in that thread just to look for the links but often there's to much clutter to find one. I think this idea would work

Posting all the links in the 1st post seems like a good idea. Problem is there will soon be so many links and posters will look at this 1st post and not know which links work for which current tournaments. Therefore I would suggest highlighting in red those links which are currently useful for the present weeks tournaments and perhaps make a note for which tournament this like is effective for on occasions when there are more than one tournament during that specific week.

Yeah that would work too. :worship:

The thing we don't want is a massive thread where one has to hunt through millions of posts to find the right livestream link.

A weekly livestream links for the week of XX/XX/XX thread would work nicely.

No, I will edit the first post every time new info comes in, and if for some reason I can't you can chat in the tourney livescore threads :)

I think keeping it in the tournament forum is a better idea. If you are looking for something specific it is very difficult to find... one tournament may have multiple streams (usually not the one you want ), with many tournaments in a given week there is a lot of posts. Maintaining the 1st post will be challenging as well unless you don't work or go to school.... just my 2 cents

Yes, I will say the name of the tournament followed by the links.

The thing is, the other thread was created cause there were so many weekly threads. This way, there is just one that changes with the weekly info :)

It will be difficult to maintain, I just figured we can still do the chatting in the tourney forum, but there is a sticky thread here too for easy references usually. If I get the links once they usually don't change till the next tourney and I can update once a day I'm sure

Yeah a livestream thread in every tournament forum is probably the best solution of all. But if iSzavay wants to be responsible for making those threads that would be okay with me. It probably does make sense to have one or two people running these threads who are very familiar with all the livestreams that are out there.

That thread was created because there were threads every night about what the livestreams were. If just one thread was made a week, there would be no problem.

Well I just think 1 thread per tournament and then one for everything

Also, if one was every week it would be the same type of chaos as that one

I think the one thread per tournament is the most important. And obviously that thread would belong in the specific tournament Forum. But if you wanted to have one additional thread in the main forum where all the livestream links that have been used over the course of the year are listed in the 1st post, well that isn't a bad thing either.

Perhaps we could make more sticky threads so that multiple threads on the same topic aren't started.
For example: "Jankovic will never win a Slam" thread, "Bartoli is fat" thread, "Ballbashers suck" thread etc.

i have no problem maintaining the other thread. before you commit to such a thread, you have to ask yourself if you really have the time on your hands. i'm basically semi-retired and plan to watch every tournament of the year.

therefore, i will always be actively looking and available for all links. if you have this kind of time free the whole year, and are committed to spending it on tennis, then go for it.

i'll keep my thread going anyway so we can have an alternative.

If someone is willing to maintain it, I think having one thread sticky is the best idea. The first post would need to be updated every week with new links to livestreams and obviously the old ones deleted so it doesn't get cluttered.

as usual dave i totaly agree, as long as the new links are updated each week and the old ones decluttered it will be a good idea.
