Vaidisova wouldn't realize something was wrong until she has a zero in her bank account.

I am very glad someone started a thread on this actually. Iveta has worked very hard in the last year to pretty much rescue her career from a pretty low ebb a year ago. Lets not forget nine months ago Iveta was ranked down at 132 in the world. I know a lot of her fans myself included didn't have a whole lot of optimism that Iveta would be able to bounce back into the thick of the main tour. Quite honestly, I feared she was near retirement. I am so glad that Iveta proved my worst fears very much wide of the mark. These last nine months Iveta has consistently fought hard to get back into the top 50 and near the top 40. She deserves all her success. I, for one, would love to see Iveta's 2nd reign as Czech number one, almost four years since her 1st reign ended, be a very long one. :rocker:

But I should add to the fans of the player she deposed, Nicole Vaidisova, that I hope Iveta's return to form can at least be an example that you never can tell what the future of tennis will hold. And just as Iveta showed how it is possible to escape the abyss of miserable form last year, there is no reason why Nicole can't do the same thing this year.

Vaidisova?!?!?!?! What happened to your once beautiful game? This has really come as a shock to me. I didn't realise she had slipped that much down the rankings. Seriously she needs to get that head sorted and have more confidence in herself. Not many people can reach Semi's of a Slam, win 3 tournaments in a row and reach the quarters of Wimby for two consecutive years. She has talents in abundance but I guess she needs to find those awesome groundstrokes again- and consistently.

Anyway, credit to Iveta she is going up the ladder and maybe this will be a wakeup call for Nicole to step it up.

shocking change for the Czech Republic when you consider the era of Martina, Hana, Helena and later Jana.

Well she all started going down hill when she started dating Stephanek. So obviousbly he's the problem, just like he was for Hingis.

Seriously, just boot his ass and she'll get back to form. :o

But yeah, it's quite a feat. But I do find that her ranking is very inflated. Having had very few points to defend, the rise back to Top 100 was relatively easy once she hit some form, and it was all up from there. I am not saying she hasn't done well, but I do think that we'll see her slide down to a ranking that is probably a better indication of her actual ability and level of play.

amazing post :worship:

As a big fan of Nicole and a silent supporter of Iveta, I agree that right now Iveta deserves this. If Nicole starts playing better, then I think she is capable of being higher.. but it is great to see Iveta's hard work paying off. :bounce:
