Is it true she didn't enter? And if so, why?

Yes it's true. I believe it's because she has no points to defend there, so she's going to take her time to enjoy married life.

Maybe she should rethink if it was pretty intelligent to let off a GS when you're a professional player you don't want to miss it right?! Better should've taken her honeymoon in clay season...

Don't know how I feel about this. Skipping a GS just because you don't have points to defend? Come on Beth...

Marriage??!! I didn't know Bethanie was getting married. I knew she had pulled out of the AO but I assumed it was due to injury. I am very pleased to hear the reality is actually a much happier occurance. Good for her.

Good decision by Bethanie. Marriage is a big deal. It is right that she takes the time off to enjoy her honeymoon and her new state of life. For what it is worth, and relative to finding a lifelong partner I would say very little, Bethanie has virtually no points to defend during the 1st three months of the year so her ranking won't take a hit by just enjoying a nice long honeymoon break.

Why?! She has loads of points to defend in the clay season! Better now when she has hardly any points to defend in the first couple months of the year.

Is she going to be changing her surname to her husband's or sticking with Mattek? I know she's still down as Mattek on the Open GDF entry list.

I personally think that's a poor decision. Last year was her best year and she really should be trying to push up into the world's top 32. Oh well, it's her decision.

I kind of agree, it would've been best to do a honeymoon in the off-season, but at least she's not hurt.

Who did she get married too?

Congrats Beth :)

Who cares, it's her life not yours.

Life outside tennis is way more important, you know. Just let her and enjoy her marriage life :D
