Vera went away for a while in the second set, but came alive again towards the end. Venus' serve and forehand were on fire, though. She has played very well this week. Congrats, Vee  Carry this play over to the Aussie Open :D

just like last year Venus goes undefeated in singles and wins the tournaments albeit as part of a team this time. as to what this means for AO if anything. Venus played awful last year at AO after playing well at HK so  I'm just glad Venus is healthy and playing :)

and Venus is such a great spokesperson now. She was very elegant and articulate during the trophy ceremony. and lol at her wearing a blanket even though she just finished a match. and is wearing a fleece during her doubles match.

I know she was so mature in the trophy ceremony! She treated those girls like her daughters or something, she looked so sweet :awww:
I am watching the double now! And omg! What great chemistry CoCo and Venus have, maybe it doesn't translate to great doubles tennis but they like eachother
EVERY1 has the same racket in the doubles match :haha:

Congrats Vee. :hearts: :yeah: Vera gave it a go, a little too late, plus she cries too much and needs to control her emotions. I really like her but I'm getting tired of that 5 yr old behaviour. Good luck to both at AO. Lol at Vee having fun with Coco in dubs. I enjoyed that.

The one time out of the year that someone other than Serena has the opportunity to play doubs with Venus. Coco looked like she had a blast. Both of them were having a good time :D It is funny that they chose to do the ceremony before the doubles. I wonder why

i assume because team americas had already won. it was getting cold and late, so the important people can go home and the 4 girls can play an exo doubles match to whatever crowds left.

Solid stuff from Vee :bounce:
Congrats to Coco and Gisela too on winning the exho tournament
btw, the doubles match was very entertaining. What a differance a smile makes for Coco. She seemed so relaxed today joking with Vee and everything compared to the other day when she looked so tense through out. Her volleys were much improved today too. I hope the opportunity of playing with Vee will inspire her to do good things in her career. Maybe Vee will become some sort of mentor to her ;)

I was surprised when I saw how annoyed Vee got when she made her errors...
I really want her to leave cold HK and see pics of her in Melbourne.
Doubles match sounded like fun, good to hear V was having fun on the court.

Yay!!! Go Venus! Go team America! Dulko has been very impressive too. I know Venus always plays well in Hong Kong. I think I remember reading last year that it was her 4th or 5th title there, so now she has 5 or 6. She has done especially well this year though and I hope given her success in Zurich, Doha and now Hong Kong that she can continue to go onwards and upwards! I'm quietly hopeful about Melbourne.

It's weird but because of this arrangement, I managed to watch the ceremony as cable tv here didn't show the doubles after the ceremony.

Venus seems to have got straight into top gear for the start of the season, but Bepa has a rust problem! (not because she lost but her serve and shot execution not good) congratulations to Venus and a spanking for Bepa
