Dementieva vs. Krasnoroutskaya for the 2009 US Open. Come on, Lina, let's try one more time. ;)

Updated! Elena Dementieva is now 5-5 in all-Russian finals, Safina 2-2. And 2009 is already better than 2005 or 2007!

Vesnina is 0-1 now, she's not in your list.

Myskina used to OWN her fellow russians

You don't have Bardina, Likhovtseva or Bovina either.
What's up with that?

Asmus
Jan 17th, 2009, 12:32 AM
I'll add them if they make another final. I only counted the ones with multiple finals.

Golovinjured.
Jan 17th, 2009, 12:33 AM
Just add them, there's only 4 of them.
Plus, the odds of Bardina, Likhovtseva or Bovina making another singles final are slim to none.

Likhovtseva most likely retired, so yeah, Bardina hasn't been the same player since her final, so yeah, and Elena is trying to comeback from shoulder injuries, so no:p

By the way, I do like Zvonareva's chances of making another final though...

Dementieva being in 10 of the 18 :worship:

What's improved is Elena's ability to handle all-Russian finals better. Dubai, Olympics, Auckland and Sydney most recently. That's 4 of her 5 all-Russian wins in less than a year. Mental improvement IMO. :)

She might BE GOAT, but is such stats that crucial?

Sharapova is Russian no.1 /and I say this as an absolute Sharapova-hater/. :(

You didn't noticed wink at the end of my post, right ?:lol:

Nah, that stats doesn't mean Elena is bet russian ever played, but I think it shows shes kind of underrated. IMO Dementieva's legacy>>>Myskina's legacy. And all that "only slams matters" posters fails to see that.

Sharapova is Russian no.1 /and I say this as an absolute Sharapova-hater/.

Well, I have to agree. But Elena comes second (third at worst )
