Will Anne be in her first WTA QF of 2009?

Opponent: Carla Suarez Navarro - Ranked: 46.

Ranking wise Anne is the underdog, however:

- Carla lost her last 5 straight matches of 2008 at WTA level
- She relies on clay tournies for virtually all her points - Roland Garros etc.
- She was beaten on hard court by fellow Brit Mel South in April 08 6-4 6-2.

So will Anne make her first QF of 08 and push her CH ranking up closer towards the top 50, beating her first top 50 player of the year?

I would love her to win and whilst there is a chance against Carla, she must pick it up from today. With better consistancy and more first serves yes i think she can win, play like today and unfortunately no...

Yes, on hardcourt Carla is nothing to be scared of. If she stays consistant and serves well QF here she comes.

I agree with both of you. Carla is poor on hardcourt but Anne was pretty shocking in her first round match :p

It would be an awesome start if Anne could scoop up 70 points :p
