Phew, boy that was exhausting.
Really important that Ana managed to close it out in the end. A mix of some great play of old-Ana with some abysmal misses. My favourite point was that BH slice passing winner. :drool:

Excellent 1st set from Ana. She was aggressive and confident and looked awesome. Then the rest of the match was plain ugly. Her 1st serve percentage was only 50% for the match :eek: Bepa is going to have a field day if she plays like that tomorrow. But good to see Ana back in a final for the first time since RG. Hopefully she can pull it off

Great match! Amazing points, but Ana could have reduced the no. of U.E. Both played great really, but Ana played better. It would have been unfair if Aga won. [My opinion, not asking you to judge my opinion]

I think Ana's coaches need to drum in "be aggressive permanently" because when she ruthlessly wins the first set, she eases off and nearly always ends up in a tense situation. The coaches need to help her utilise her power game more consistently.

She has always taken the worst possible pressure you can have in tennis and won the RG grand slam, so she shouldn't really feel pressure in these situations.

Might be true but Vera played better when it mattered while Aga did not. Aga has won 3 titles this year and made 3 finals but nothing recently, her. Bepa made six finals (not counting Linz) and lost to Maria, Serena, Jelena only Daniilidou (W/O) one could really question.

I'd say not including the slams Bepa did well enough in my opinion.

Good win for Ana. :clap2: She had me worried toward the end. Fortunately she stepped it up in the last couple of games with some nice shots off of her beautiful forehand and attacking the second serve.

Aga put in a good effort today. She really gave Ana a lot of trouble with her nice shotmaking. If she can do something about her second serve, then she will have a better chance against the elite players like Ana.

This was not a very pretty much, but I found it fascinating nonetheless. This was an important win for Ana after several three-set losses. However, she should have won it more easily and definitely needs to have a better serving day tomorrow.
