They would need 2 players to withdraw/retire before competing at the YEC!
Not gonna happen:rolleyes:

They should rest and practice for next season

Bethanie's finally playing again :D

Hopefully Flavia tanks it so Beth can get really far. But with Flavia's draw she could probably tank and still get into the QF.

Thread Title is not perfect:

- Radwanska is in draw (Urszula).
- Even if Aga wins in Linz and Quebec she will not overtake Zvonareva at #8 (#7 without Maria).
- At YEC is qualify 7 not 8 players and 8th player tehnically choose WTA and they already announce that Venus will play in Doha, so even if overtake Vee winning Linz and Quebec, Aga will not play in Doha instead Venus.

If Pennetta wins this, she will very close to became first Italian ever to reach TOP10 week after Australian Open! She will be in better position than Petrova, Schnyder and Wozniacki to replace Sharapova in TOP10 if Maria not defend her AO title.

Yes, I'd love to witness another amazing performance from Pelletier just like the one in Montreal this year. :) I mean sure, they're the hometown girls and it's fun for the crowd and for them to be there, but why not give the chance to play to players who can actually get out of ITF qualifying.

Fichman and Tetrault proved themselves as good players who can get far.
Its a shame that Pallivets got a wc to qualies though.:confused::confused:

Kinda surprised to see Petrova and Pennetta here. Quebec's a bit out of the way after playing in Europe, I thought they would've ended their seasons in Linz. Hope they meet in the final though, with Nadia getting revenge for Zurich!!! :fiery: It'd be nice to see her end the season on a high after such a disastrous first 5/6 months.

Tetrault beat a top-100 player this week! And Fichman has been very consistent lately winning main draw matches in 50k tournaments. Honestly, those two plus Pelletier all have a decent chance at winning their opening round.

Flavia is here
1) for the YEC, u know that if also you don't play, there are a lot of $$$ to earn, she and nadia are fighting for the last reserve, and this is the reason why are both here
2) there's the real possibility to became 1st italian top 10next year, naturally doing well at aus open, and winning this tourney could help her in this

i don't undrestand why all this people criticizing flavia

Playing Quebec doesn't increase Falvia's chances to break into top-10. She ain't winning the event because she's too tired and in order to add anything to her rankings she will have to reach SF there.
If Flavia wants to make it to top-10 she should be resting and preparing herself to Australian Open -- the slam where she has won only three matches in her career.

yes but the real reson is the first, the second is only a conseguence
she's here because she wanted to make YEC, and that's all...she originally wont come here, then when she arrives in final at linz surpasses petrova in race and come here with late entry, only to make YEC 2nd reserve

:haha:are you actually serious about resting for the AO now? She can still prepare for the AO whether she plays at Qubec or not. But resting now. Ridiculous comment. It's still October - then there's 2 months off in November and December. The AO is in nearly 3 months time.

What actually happens if Nadia beats Flavia in the final? Then both would have 1914 Points in the race, would the person get to Doha, who won more matches?

I believe, the one who has played more tournaments will go to YEC. It's Flavia.
