Her serve improved dramatically. As for the rest of her game I thought she played better at the USO.

Venus was flashier at USO. Her steady, consistent, smart play in the Zurich final was the best I'd seen her play outside Wimbledon or the US Open since 2003, to be honest. That kind of Venus is impressive, one who thinks, because I know she's got a great brain in her head. It's nice to see her obviously use it.

she did play well but Janko has a way of making your serve break down due to her long rallies

Jelena was playing so well at Stuttgart, if Venus had won that match she would have won the title.

Venus was playing great at the US Open (excluding the first round).

She played really well at the Porsche Grand Prix. Sucked in Moscow and wasn't that good in Zurich until the final (well some can say until the third set against Ivanovic).

one thing she really has improved is her netgame. if she's confident and in an aggressive mood her volleys are really good now.
she still has some problems with volleying balls that fly lower over the net, but overall she's become a good volleyer.
if she tries to work on that part of her game she could become one of, if not the best volleyer on tour with her movement and reach.

Venus must now use that part of her game like 60 percent of the time. I know it's a lot to ask of her, but she needs to end point quickly. If she still has the effects of anemia, then it would be smart of her to shorten the points. I think she can win more titles if she does this. Venus' reach is remarkable and can hardly be passed. Seriously, if Venus can hit serves 120+ out wide for most of the points and follow thru to net, she will win almost every time. Easier said than done, but I think she can do it.

My take? It is absolutely obvious that Venus, after her break-down loss to Jankovic, that she went home and trained so she could have a shot at not only winning titles, but having a strong showing at the YEC's. Her bulid-up towards the end of the Ivanovic match was nothing short of remarkable. If Venus is playing that kind of tennis, and moving well, she's a threat to anyone who crosses her.

There you are!
I'm doing pretty good, yeah. Actually REAL good. Major studying to do for the next couple days though.

Oh, and I hate to do this, but if you go off-topic again and talk about Venus, I'll have to report your posts. It gives me no pleasure, it's just part of the job.
