Who will win this Match between 2 big-hitters on Wednesday in Luxembourg?
They played last week in the qualificatuion of Zurich and Groenefeld won 6:3, 6:0.
But Groenefeld has only won 2 maindraw match indoor in the last 3 years.
So probably time for revanche for Yanina.

ALG indoor matches since beginning of 2006:

Hopman Cup 2006: losing to Stosur, Dulko and Krajicek in straight sets
Paris 2006: losing to Foretz in 3 sets
Memphis 2006: beaten Yoon-Jeong Cho in 2 sets, but losing to Perry in straight sets
Luxembourg 2006: losing to Knapp in 2 sets
Stuttgart 2006: winning against Malek in 3, but losing to Petrova in straight sets
Zurich 2006: losing to Hingis in 2 sets
Linz 2006: losing to Radwanska in 2 sets
Hasselt 2006: losing to Rezai in 2 sets
Antwerp 2007: losing to Razzano in 2 sets
Stuttgart 2008: losing to Venus Williams in 2 sets
Zurich 2008 (only qualification): beating Zheng and Wickmayer in 2 sets, but losing to Kvitova in straight sets

Her indoor record in maindraw matches since 2006: 2-12 :o with qualification in Zurich: 4-13

So only 4 wins (2 in maindraws) indoors is not very much. She lost 4 sets with 0:6 and 5 sets with 1:6.
Wins against Cho and Zheng indoors aren't very impressive. The match against Malek was very tight. So her only good win indoors in the last 3 years was against Wickmayer last week. But Wickmayer had still some problems with constance. Perhaps, she had a bad day in Zurich. If she finds her form from the first half of the year, she will definitely be able to beat Groenefeld.

and who cares? and what the f... has this to do with your poll? 2006 is far away. we're talking about a different ALG in a different situation back then. and what exactly is the difference between a q-match and a md-match in your argumentation?
i guess more interesting is that these two players met 1.5 weeks ago on the same surface and ALG won easily. so she's the obvious favourite.

early 2006 she was coming back from that shocking ankle injury and was searching for confidence

late 2006 the slump began

only relevant point is that they played just over a week ago, indoors, and ALG thrashed her

Well this could be a big serving, hard hitting, ballbasher contest :o
They could be challenging eachother on who hits harder.

Well, it's a new match. So there is hope for Yanina ;)
But ALG is the favourite.

This match will be all about if Yanina can get her massive groundstrokes in play.

Yanina would win it. She hits harder than ALG, but makes more unforced errors
Look at last week, ALG was without any chance against Petra Kvitova. And Kvitova is not better than Yanina.
So tommorrow is time for revanche

Yanina in 3: 4:6, 6:3, 6:1 :D

I really doubt that ;) She probably moves better but she doesn't hit harder.
