On the regular tour it's the record:) But as for all-time in women's tennis, don't forget Brenda Schultz' 131 MPH serve in qualifying rounds a couple years ago:eek:!

that would make her tie with Brenda at fastest ever, but remember she holds the world record for fastest serve at all the Grand Slams.

love that serve, when it's clicking.

Wow! When was that? The commentators didn't mention it. I didn't see the whole match though. Although during that game when she hit like four aces in a row the commentator said they were all above 120mph. I don't think she knew the exact speeds. Was it then?

CINCINNATI, OH, USA - Brenda Schultz-McCarthy, who has been making significant progress in recent months in her 2006 Sony Ericsson WTA Tour comeback, achieved one of the goals of her return over the weekend in Cincinnati, to reclaim the record for fastest serve in women's tennis history. The 35-year-old Dutchwoman clocked a serve at 130mph in her qualifying match against Julia Cohen, and although she wasn't able to make it past the American, she was ecstatic with the serve speed accomplishment.

Dang Vee! I think she could hit 135mph, she is THAT strong. Mary Carillo said that Venus is capable of hitting serves in the 130s, but I don't think Venus could do that on a consistent basis. But what an amazing display of serving. I hope she can do this in Doha!

Serena also hit a 129mph serve against Sharapova at the 2004 YEC but it was out by a few inch.

Did the 130 mph serve occur in the game where she hit those 4 consecutive aces in a row where Flavia applauded the last one with her racquet

Serena also hit a 129mph serve against Sharapova at the 2004 YEC but it was out by a few inch.does Serena only hit those when she's playing Pova? :haha: Talk about anger. Serena could surpass Venus' record, all she has to do is see Maria on the other side of the net.
