I just came back from this match!;)

First of all you coul tell indoors is not her favorite surface
But Sesil was clearly a league above her opponent. Her BH is a thing of beauty:eek:. It makes a very nice sound when she hits it. Her FH is very funky. She basically spins the ball in play
Her serve needs a lot of work too. She was hitting 90KM/H first serve when serving at 4/5 in the third. Lots of double faults too:o

It looked like Sesil didn't care about this match. She just became pumped in the last game, yelling "come on" after her drop volley winner!
Sesil didn't look tired at all after the more than 2 hours match. She barely sweat even if she was running everywhere. Her loss is more mental to me. She trailed 5/0 in the third in like 10 min
Get your head together please SESIL!!!!:help:

Vedy was a B version of Loit : lefty, lots of spin, bad BH
She deserves an actress oscar even more than Jankovic. She was injured since 4/3 first set, limping around, touching her leg.....and running like a rabbit!!!

Fun watch BTW

Is it not probable that Sesil was only in the top 100 thanks to drugs and that without them she isn't a top 100 player ?

Vdy is horrible to watch.

Sesil really should be demolishing the likes of Vdy, but I don't know what is stopping her from doing it. I was really impressed when I saw her earlier this year, and I know she can come back, but consistency is nowhere to be seen.

Poor Sesil - another bad loss. Hopefully she'll put her game together a bit more before the end of the year. Is she planning on playing anywhere else?

Sesil really should be demolishing the likes of Védy, but I don't know what is stopping her from doing it.
I think I do: the term "what if".

What if she hadn't been found guilty of doping? (Whether she was or wasn't: one way its "why did I do it", the other its "why did the test say I did".)

Maybe if she'd distanced herself from her father and gone back to Bollettieri (or to a European place like Sanchez-Casals) to prepare for her comeback.

Maybe even if 3 months B4 stabbing me in the back about representing her under the guidance of the retired major agent I've referred to, she hadn't told me in Feb. '07 that she and Rado had the "tech stuff" under control, and I should just deal with a possible early return and on another country paying her to emigrate. (She thought it was enough to hit with the BUL Davis Cup team because men hit harder, as if most female players don't also practice against guys.)

Sometimes it takes a really long time for someone to ovacome the what if's (like my dear Jen). And sometimes they don't (like Daja Bedanova among many others who had talent, but also personal issues to deal with). Plus its even harder for Sesil because having the potential sponsors, etc. consider one "radioactive" because of the stigma about doping in sports reflected in scandals from Mark McGwire to Marion Jones.

And maybe she'll just drift in and out of comeback attempts (like Stevenson, Dokic, Lucic and so many others).

I don't know how much money she still owes or how long she has to pay it off, but I would be surprised if her income this year has been much more than her expenses. (And ITF events don't pay for hotel expenses like on the main tour. Of course neither cover airfare.) In other words, Sesil's eligibility to play in 2009 isn't certain.

Isn't some German company sponsoring her?
