Really fantastic that Jelena was able to get the win, but also that she was able to do the WC justice. :) So happy right now!

Congrats Jelena :yeah: a solid win in 58 minutes.

2nd Serve needs improvement, but hey a win is a win & I'm just pleased that she's playing again (even if she lost) :)
GL against Craybas, remember no pressure at all, just do your best & play.

Not very good stats... 5/15 break points won, 9 DFs :o

But I guess she's just a bit rusty... And the score is what counts ;)

Pretty impressive I'd say but I think the next match against Craybas will probably give a clearer indication of where Dokic is right now. If she comes throught that one unscathed then she is looking pretty good.

Petra is not even close to fulfilling the promise she showed earlier this year.

Jelena :bounce:
from 2:3 to 6:3 3:0, of course df-s were a bit frequent and she had to waste a cpl of mps but still :woohoo:
Keep SHOOO-ing Jelena :)

Jelena :bigclap:

So happy right now, I can't wait for pics/vids/reports :hearts:

9 Doublefaults is dreadful :o But I think 4 of them came in the first 2 service games, and only 3 in the last set so it's not really too bad, still something to work on  I don't think her serve has changed, still hitting her second as hard as her first judging by the DF's and second serve aces though.

Good luck against Jill :yeah: She has a big match today, so hopefully that took something out of her. No pressure, Jelena ;)

Well done, Jelena :)

But can I ask a stupid question? Why did Jelena even need a wildcard for qualifying? She's ranked 181 and the last direct acceptance in to the q draw was Dominika Nociarova , who's ranked 266. I know that entries are not always decided on this week's rankings, but I still don't get it.

Freakan
Oct 18th, 2008, 01:53 PM
She had 9 DF's because she just hits 2 1st serves. If we don't count DF's she won 11/14 2nd serves;) I remember her last match, against Sevastova, she hit only 2 or 3 2nd serves, besides that, there were only another 1st serves instead of 2nd serve :tape:
Great win Jelena!

:bounce: I'm actually kinda suprised Jelena won, especially so easily!!! I guess that shows she has been training hard or she wouldn't have one, since she didn't play in August(on clay).

All i can say for her next match is hopefully Craybas will be tired since she barely escaped her match today. Jelena good luck and this match will show where your level is! :D

Well Done Jelena! :D :D Was ecstatic that she was playing in the first place, so to get a win is a bonus! Craybas will be tough, but is definitely winnable for Jelena. Good Luck!!

Great to see such a convincing scoreline :D I hope she does well against Jill, no matter what happens, I'm sooooo happy to see her playing (somewhere else than a 25K on clay) :bounce:

Amazing, Jelena. And totally unexpected for me. :hearts: SHOO!

If there's a surface she can beat Craybas on with this little matchplay, this is it. She'll need to find some consistency though, Jill is like a backboard. AJDE!!!! :armed:

Could you be any more cynical, bitter and negative. All your posts have this same flavour. It doesnt seem like you ever have many nice things to say.

And why are you saying this after she just won a match easily? :weirdo:

Speaking of mental issues, you might have some yourself.

Craybas? Wow, this is the highest ranked player she Jelena has played in a very long time...since Razzano in Australia right? Anyway, Jill is very consistent so it'll be tough for Jelena unless she can maintain her game. Good luck

No not exactly! Jill's right now 64 in the ranks but Dokic has defeated Müller in Hobart when the German was ranked 54. She also defeated 71 Meusburger and 83 Shvedova there. But true it is, it has been some time ago...
