I've been bummed because I don't know if I will ever get my knee back to full 100 percent movement and I've been embarrassed to go play tennis with my friends cause I'd figure I'd get shown up and look bad. (I'm super competitive)
My friend Ally sent me this link last night though and I was just really inspired and moved. After seeing what this person did and being so brave to jump off that cliff and lay everything out there for that girl I just really feel like I need to get off my duff and go PLAY TENNIS!!!!!
So here's the link and I hope it inspires you as much as it did me. Maybe another girl in my situation might be picked up by this emotionally.

What kind of injury did you have, what happened? I mean, was it serious?

Hi. Yeah I had a torn meniscus and I ended up getting severe tendonitis and UGGHhg I was sooo frustrated. I tore it cause I went all out for the ball and basically planted my foot way out too far and my leg was like almost straight out but somehow I pushed off of my foot and when I did my knee couldn't handle it and my leg just kinda gave out and my knee felt kinda hot you know. I kept playing but by the end it was tightening up and ohhh I just wish I never would have went after that ball.

You have my total sympathy. I did something pretty similar to what you did but not as bad and it was years ago now. I playing competition tennis and went for a ball and I went one way my knee went the other kept playing on it for another month and so we could finish the finals and the team had no one to replace me. Big mistake I went to phyiso who told me I was about another week or so from needing a knee reconstruction and that was 21 years ago and I've been paying for it ever since. I hope you get over it but if you can play just because you love the game I did for about 10 years after injured it just for the fun of it and I didn't care what other people thought of me as a player as long as I enjoyed i found a team that felt the same way and really enjoyed my tennis had to play with braces on both my knees in the end and it wasn't a pretty look but I really didn't care. I played for the love of game and now I miss it.:)
