OMG! :scared: The top seeds are dropping like tati's knickers! :help:
Russian beauty gets her first win of the season this week in Sydney, Australia. The Russian player is the highest seeds left in the draw, alone with Kuznetsova the 8th seed. It was a bad day for seeds as 6 of them flies back to Melbourne to get ready for the first Grand Slam of the season, the Australian Open.
''This kind of situation gives me more pressure for sure. I don't know if I can handle it, though. We shall see what's going to happen in the next round. This is the next step before the Australian Open and I would love to have some matches under my belt. I have a semifinal to defend there and I don't feel ready and confident to arrive there. I want to win one or two matches again here.'' said Anna.
Sexyiest player on Tour needed two hours to overcame fiesty Radwanska in three sets of 7-6(5), 0-6 and 6-2. Both ladies fought hard in the first set and then, each of them tanked a set. Anna will next meet American player, Lindsay Davenport in the second round of action.
''That was a good match. The first set was really thight and the only differences where during the tie break. I do think my experience on Tour helped me to go through this match. During the second set, I just tanked it. I made so many mistakes and she was playing great tennis. So I couldn't anything. I took a bathroom break after the second set. I needed to think about my game, my strategy, needed to get my focus back on court. This break turned the match around. She played defensive tennis and I went for my shots. I worked pretty well and then, you know, I just rolled on to victory. Next for me is Lindsay. I played a lot of times against her and we both know each other's game. This is going to be a tough match for sure and I hope for the best. I need points to get my ranking back where I belong, in the Top 5.'' said Kournikova.

Kournikova battles her way into QF
http://www.wtnphotos.com/data/550/1akoupic27.jpg
Russian beauty, Anna Kournikova, continued her run this week as she reached her first quarterfinal of the season in Sydney, Australia. The sexy lady defeated American player, Lindsay Davenport in three sets of 6-1, 2-6 and 7-5. She will face last week champion, Maria Kirilenko, in quarterfinal.
I am pretty happy with the way I played out there today. I moved better than I did this morning and my game was better too. Lindsay got a great game and she really pushed me off at the end of the third set. It was an itense battle and both of us wanted to go away with this victory. Its always nice to win this kind of match as it gives a lot of confidence. And I will need to be confident for my next match as I am going to meet Maria Kirilenko. She won the title last week, so she will be ready for our match and shes going to be tough to beat. said Anna.

Craybas claims her 4th title of her career here in Sydney, but really rode her luck this week, beating both Ivanovic and Kournikova by a CT. Tough luck for Kournikova, but she also made the final thanks to a CT. Nice week for Kournikova who moves back to #5, while Craybas continues her upward direction, jumping up to #9, and will be a big contender for the Australian Open next week :)
