1. Serena Williams

Already solidifying herself as THE force of Women's tennis with unmatched power, athleticism and sheer will power, Serena comes into Stuggart with loads of momentum on her side. Anyone in her section of the draw needs to focus on one thing: "BEWARE!"

2. Jelena Jankovic

Becoming #1, making it to her first Major final, and winning the China Open all within a two-month span shows that Jankovic is not to be looked over. Jankovic has already posted wins over the Williamses and every other top player in the field. Guaranteed a spot in the end of this tournament, can she pull off back-to-back tournaments?

3. Dinara Safina

The tall Russian has flourished this season into a contender for the Majors and anything else that she puts her mind to. Safina, the sister of 2-time Major winner Safin, has all the chemistry and genetic make-up to intimidate and cause damage to anyone's dreams of titles, but can she keep her head screwed long enough?

4. Elena Dementieva

Winning the Olympics and appearing in her first Semifinals at Wimbledon, this Russian beauty definitely has brawns on the court. With a most-improved serve, Dementieva has mostly improved her chances to win Majors in the near future. In Stuggart, she could start her reign, where the top elite are present.

5. Svetlana Kuznetsova

Fourth-ranked Russian and seventh in the world, the 2004 US Open Champion has had a steady 2-year run in the top 10. She's been knocking hard on the door to capture a second Slam to add to her collection. Kuznetsova took out Serena this time last year in the quarters. They will meet again in the same round. Can Kuzy do it again?

6. Venus Williams

The 2-time Wimbledon champ is not to be played with these days. Stronger, fitter, and faster than ever, Venus has embarked on a career that rivals the greats. The intimidation factor she once had has made a huge comeback. Serena or Jelena may think they have this tournament in their fingers, but I wouldn't be surpised if the elder Williams blew through this draw.
Note: (She's my pick!)

I think Venus is playing very well and I love that Serena and Venus are playing in the doubles so Serena can practice her game and see what went wrong.
