So Laura's great run in her only 2nd professional tournament has come to an end. A GREAT week for her :worship: I guess nobody expected her to go so far in this tournament.

Also a good effort from the 14-year old player in this match, she took a set against Ani  after being a break down in this set. Too bad it ended with a bagel

Congrats Maret ;)

:hug:great tournie!
Not a bad result taking a set off the no. 105, particularly as she was a break down in the second.

Lets hope the next tournament is half as good!:bounce:

Great effort Laura! To come back from a break down to win the second set shows you're mental toughness. Ani must of been just a bit too much in the end.

Looking forward - what is her next tournament?

Shes down for the $50K Joue-les-tour on the 6th Oct but she'll need a WC for that which will be difficult to get. Barnstaple is the same week so she well might take a late WC for that. She's also down for another $50K in France the week after.

Even though she lost, what a week for Laura Robson. I think the initial purpose of playing the event was to get some experience at the ITF level, who in her camp actually expected her to beat some Top150 players and reach the SF taking a set off of #105 in the world. Stunning week for Laura, she has nothing to hang her head about.

Maret's experience must have shone through in the end, well done to her.

Obviously not many of them; quote from the Telegraph:

She had packed light, and so her mother, Kathy, had to fetch her some more clothes from their family home in south-west London, just a short walk from the All England Club.

"I had only brought enough clothes for one or two matches, so Mum had to bring up more stuff from home, as I hadn't expected to do that well.
