Well, last year I had more responses, :ras:
But I thought this first episode was really good!!
Can't wait to see more!

I did like Xtina alot this episode.
Her falling down was high-larious.
But I thought there wasn't much thought with the icicle:

a. she laid there for quite a long time, I assume, so won't more icicles fall?
b. Doesn't it melt :o
c. First don't take it out because of infection and etc, then take it out like that?

So true about the icicles,

So, the couple that I want to happen really bad this season is Mark and Lexie.
They had soooooo much chemistry in that first episode and he said that George is an idiot if he doesn't like Lexie.
This could be the best romance EVER!
And I still can't stand Meredith and Derek for the fifth season in a row, :rolls:

the show has gotten worse every season :o

'Grey's' goosed again
So what's the deal with "Grey's Anatomy"? Last Thursday's episode averaged only 14.5 million viewers, a far cry from its average last season (roughly 18 million viewers), and was steam rolled, again, by "CSI" (19.2 million viewers). While "Grey's" did win the night in adults 18-49, adults 18-34 and all key demos, ABC brass has got to be alarmed at the drop in viewership. The network's "Life on Mars" (Harvey Kei tel, Jason O'Mara), dropped about 2 million viewers from its premiere and finished third in viewers behind "Eleventh Hour" (CBS) and "ER" (NBC).

I thought tonight's episode was definitely one of the better ones of the season. Although I hate the Denny storyline. I also find that the writers keep going for those memorable quotes and sometimes your like what... why are they even saying that. Like Alex declaring his love or the Lexi 'teach me' thing..

I think this Izzy-Denny storyline is just to screw Katy Heigl over, and I'm all up for that, but spare the viewers some sympathy. :help:

Outstanding episode 4-23-09!

The best segment of the episode was Baily trying to comfort a desperate father who can't except his little girl only has hours to live. One of the most gut-wrenching episodes of the season, and the actor, can't think of his name, probably had one of the best performances of a guest role on the series.

People want to dismiss this show but the writing is still very good.

The whole 'Izzy and Denny' ghost BS crap turned me off that show. I'll come back if they kill her off. Her and Meredith have always been my least favorite characters on the show. I know Meredith isn't going anywhere, but hopefully Izzy will.

I have to say tonight show was sad, two of the doc being killed off. I knew both where leaving the show but I did not she George being killed off. I do have to say I saw the george/jon doe thign coming, they way he look at DR Gray like he knew her and the fact they keep saying he was going to die. Great forshadowing. As far as Izzy I am said to she her die, be we all knew that was coming for along time. RIP George and Izzy

I have no complaints with the finale, not quite as good as LOST, but very satisfying nonetheless.

I wonder if them being killed off had anything to do with how vocal they were of the show and it's writing...

I can't believe I didn't guess it was George. As soon as the patient arrived I thought it'd be ironic if it was McSteamy cos of the state of his face, and then McSteamy showed up on screen so I stopped thinking about it. The sad thing is George has been missing for so much of this season I didn't give it a moments thought that he wasn't onscreen. Was such a shock  I just thought he was going to join the army....

I thought that as a whole it was disappointing, but there were so many individual moments that I loved - anything with Christina and Meredith - that I think I enjoyed it. Same as Lost really.

I thought killing George off was, pardon the expression, overkill. They could have just had him ship out to Iraq and be done with it, but NO, Shonda Rimes had to kill him. Isaiah Washington can conceivably come back, but T.R. Knight can't? That ain't right.

eck
May 16th, 2009, 03:32 AM
But to be fair, TR Knight wanted out. Apparently.

I understand that, and if Knight had been as much of a jerk as Washington was (and I say this as a straight black male), I would understand why Shonda Rimes killed off his character.

May 16th, 2009, 03:54 AM
Yeah, true.

I would have preferred if he went to Iraq.
That's what I read from the spoilers.

But I guess it's better he died in SG rather than Iraq.

Shonda
That woman has an ego the size of the sun. As if she doesn't read what the press say about some of her storylines :tape:

Posted on 4/12/08:

A source close to the show tells me, "The reason [the actor] has not been on is because [he or she] has been a pain in the ass lately, trying to change scenes and dialogue, being hard to work with and putting up an attitude. The higher-ups were getting tired of it, so they tweaked [him or her] out of some episodes. That's why you haven't really seen [him or her] lately." A second source seconds that emotion: "[He or she] is not really getting along too well with producers right now."

Would make sense if it was TR. :tape:

The song at the end was just :hearts:

When GA started Izzie was my fave character, but I've never liked her again since the affair with George & how nasty she was to Callie. I think George will be the one to die. He was already off the elevator & I took it as Izzie deciding whether to get off & go with him to "heaven".

'Grey's Anatomy' clears exits for two
By Joanna Weiss
Globe Staff / May 17, 2009

When it comes to TV, rumors often turn out to be true. Word was that Katherine Heigl and T.R. Knight were preparing to leave "Grey's Anatomy." And at the end of Thursday night's season finale, both Izzy Stevens and George O'Malley appeared to be gone: Izzy crashing, cancer stricken in her hospital bed, George coding in an operating room after being hit by a bus.

In both cases, no one called a time of death; there's room for resurrection and contract negotiation, not necessarily in that order. But in truth, it wouldn't be so bad for "Grey's" to lose these two, instead of straining to squeeze them into yet another season. Their characters have taken so many twists and turns that, at some points, they've become unrecognizable.

Perhaps that's the trouble with a show that's essentially a soap opera: The need for new romantic story lines can lead to absurdly mismatched pairs, and the Izzy-George affair, a few seasons ago, was a chief offender. This fifth season, Izzy even got carnal with her dead fiancé, Denny (Jeffrey Dean Morgan), as viewers howled in frustration. At least he turned out to be a hallucination: a symptom of her aggressive cancer.

On a show that routinely makes viewers cry, the Izzy cancer story line has been surprisingly unmoving. Perhaps that's because it played out against the backdrop of well-publicized backstage tensions - Heigl withdrew herself from Emmy consideration last year, saying she hadn't been "given the material" to justify an award - and the rise of Heigl's movie career. (Thursday night's show, to underscore the issue, contained an ad for an upcoming Heigl film.)

Still, Heigl has had ample chances this season to brush up her Emmy submission: Thursday night, she played scared, hurt, and eerily sick, as in a scene when the doctors put half of Izzy's brain to sleep to see if she would lose her memory.

More satisfying, though, was the way some other lead characters returned to form. We saw Bailey briefly resume her role as a maternal figure, bossy and wise. We saw Alex act like a jerk, instead of an eerily supportive husband. The big reveal of the night - the identity of the battered patient from the bus accident - even made nifty reference to the pilot, when George's fellow interns dubbed him "007." O'Malley may go out the way he came in.

On the other hand, change can sometimes be good - particularly in the case of Meredith, who has abandoned her longstanding insistence on being miserable and decided to marry McDreamy after all. Thursday night, she and Derek exchanged vows over Post-it notes as a cover of the "Flashdance" theme song played in the background. May their relationship troubles rest in peace. Forever.

Finally caught up. What a great ending with two lives hang in the balance. When Meredith said "007" I was just gobsmacked.

I reckon both are gone because of actors want to leave the show. They can find another actor to play George with Mark's help

Jessica Capshaw is in final talks to become a series regular :yeah:
