I was in a shopping mall in Canberra today getting groceries when I saw someone familiar to me walking past and going into the bank, and lord and behold it was Casey Dellacqua

It was actually a pity since I want her to be overseas playing in the asian tour :awww:  Could she be injured?

...and why the hell is she in Canberra!

Anyway...she looks amazing atm :hearts:  Anyone who says she is fat needs their head checked.

You didn't think to stop her and have a chat or congratulate her on her recent successes?

Lame. This isn't GM worthy, sorry.

Thanks for reporting :)

She would be in Canberra because that is where the AIS has it's base.
Unfortunately it seems she has withdrawn from all remaining tournaments for the season, so yeah, she's probably injured and in Canberra getting some treatment and getting ready for the '09 summer :)

How could I? I was in a hurry and I couldn't stop. And besides I could hardly go into the bank and start hounding her - she didnt look in the best of moods.

Thats the only reason I thought she would be here too :)

I saw her in the Belconnen mall, which is 5 minutes from the AIS. I regularly see top sports stars in there.

Ok, just playin' :p

Did she have any strapping for possible injuries or something?

Umm...not really, at least none that were noticable, I doubt she would have any leg injuries as she walking fine and there was not strapping.

I could also add that since I go to the University of Canberra...I see many sports stars at uni as well. In fact I talk regularly to Australia's best male gymnast Joshua Jefferis (as he is in 2 of my laboratory classes) who unfortunately missed the Beijing games with injury

ahh i wish she would have played a couple more asian tournaments before finishing her season

But i remember nicole pratt saying during the USO that the plan was to finish early and train hard and improve her serve, so I hope it all works out and she has a good aussie summer!
