Mathilde JOHANSSON: Mathilde is breaking the Top 90 for the 1rst time at n87. She's still playing on the ITF circuit and even if she played a couple of time on the main tour, we'll see further in her career if she's able to compete seriously on the WTA. Last week, she made it to the SF at Sofia $100K falling to 6th seed/n94 and eventual winner Llagostera Vives.

Ksenia PERVAK: Another russian teenage wo's having a breakthrough year..rising from n307 at the beginning of the season to n161 this week! This week jump is due to a final at Rousse $25K losing to 4th seed/n220 Wienerova.

Arantxa RUS: This former Top junior player revealed on the WTA last week after reaching the QF as a qualifer at Guangzhou Tier III $175K. After qualifying she beat talented n67 Wickmayer, then she ousted 5th seed/n44 Gulko before falling to n88 Pin.

Silvia SOLER ESPINOSA: Silvia played really smart tennis at Sofia $100 K to make it to the QF as qualifer. During her journey at Sofia, she beat n110 Bychkova before losing to eventual Runner up 2nd seed/n59 Pironkova.

Lenka WIENEROVA: Another impressive rise in the world ranking for that solvak girl. Starting the year at n343, she's now cracking the Top 200 thanks her 3rd ITF title of the year at Rousse $220K upsetting 2nd seed/n252 Nagy and Top seed/n176 Pervak.

FASTER MOVEMENT IN THE TOP 10, 20, 50, 100, 150 and 200

TOP 10
Dinara SAFINA n3 (+2): what a year for Dinara who captured this year her 4th WTA title out of 9. For a long time, she suffered from being Marat little sister...this year at 22, she proved that she was as talented as her brother even if she's now to ambition a GS title. Last week she won Tokyo Tier I $1,34M beating compatriot 5th seed/n7 Kuznetsova in final.

TOP 20:
Nadia PETROVA n18 (+2): This week again Nadia is on the Top 20 highlight. She's back to a strong level reaching the SF at Tokyo Tier I upsetting 2nd seed/n3 Ivanovic en route before losing to 4th seed/n5 eventual winner Safina.

TOP 50:
Francesca SCHIAVONE n23 (+5) and Kaia KANEPI n34 (+5):
Francesca who lost her crown as Italian Top player (Pennetta is now the best ranked italian player) is back to the Top 25 after reaching the 2nd rd at Tokyo with a good victory over 7th seed/n12 Hantuchova.
Kaia: same progression but even better run for the Estonian talent who reached the QF as qualifer at Tokyo Tier I. After qualifying, she ousted 8th seed/n13 Chakvetadze en route before losing to 4th seed/n5 Safina in a 3 sets match.

TOP 100:
Nuria LLAGOSTERA VIVES n76 (+18) and Julie DITTY n98 (+18)
Good jump for the 28 y.o spanish who captured $100K Sofia challenger upsetting Top seed/n47 Cirstea, 4th seed/n92 Mathilde Johansson and 2nd seed/n59 Pironkova. Is it necessary to notice that Sofia was a clay tournement....which can explain those strong victories.
At nearly 30 y.o, Julie is not over. She's back to the Top 100 winning Albuquerque $75K beating Top seed/n95 De Los Rios in final.

TOP 150:
Ayumi MORITA n134 (+28): The young 2 handed both side players from Japan is back to the Top 150. On april, she broke the Top 100, but whe was also benefiting from 2007 points that she earned on the challenger circuit. This year, she's playing a full schedule on the WTA most of the time against higher ranked player. However, she used her WC pretty well at Tokyo beating n19 Szavay before losing to 5th seed/n7 Kuznetsova.

TOP 200:
Aranxta RUS n183 (+50): see above.

First time their highest or just the highest. Kaia Kanepi is again No 34, as was her best ranking in summer.
