At the age of just 16, Isabella Holland has progressed through to the final of a 25k for the first time in her career. She is now the youngest Australian girl, in recent times, to make the final of a 25k. This includes the likes of Alicia Molik, Samantha Stosur, Casey Dellacqua and Jessica Moore.

En route to the final, Holland has beaten;
Emelyn STARR (AUS) (WTA #557) 6-2 7-6(7)
Jessica MOORE (AUS) (1) (WTA #144) 6-3 6-4
Alexis PROUSIS (USA) (7) (WTA #354) 6-3 6-4
Yi Miao ZHOU (CHN) (4) (WTA #288) 5-7 6-4 6-0

Holland now plays 3rd seed, Jarmila Gajdosova, for the championship!!!

Congratulations Isabella and let's hope this is the start of another promising Aussie girl's career :)

Good on her for making the final, but it doesn't appear she trashed anyone.

Trashed? Yeah, right.

I think the fact that Gajdosova playing Aussie 25K's for the 34892756234780 year in a row is more surprising.

This (as far as I remember) is only the second time Gajdosova has played on the Aussie 25k circuit

I don't mean the second tournament ever, but her second swing. She played 4 events in Feb/Mar back in 2006 and this is her second event this year.

If you are out of form, trying to regain it as well as confidence, why play on the WTA Tour all the time?

Anyway this thread is about Isabella, not Jarka ;)

She's been such a good talent for a long while, good to see her have a break out tournament of sorts :) Great stuff to reach the final here, good luck against Jarka :)

Isabella! That's brilliant news. With this I'm confident Australia has at least two decent prospects for the future. She's pretty hot as well. A marketers dream if she can keep improving. Good luck in the final girl!

Nice to see her breakthrough here, I saw her play mixed doubles against Peschke in the Aus open. I wasnt impressed with her, of course she was very young, but she didnt look to have the technique to generate much power, veteran Kveta was nearly blowing the raquet out of her hands when they got into a baseline exchange.... Of course Isababella can only go up from here. We will see how she does. :)

Great news for Isabella, I hope she can take it out now! She'll get a ranking back after this and will appear on the rankings on the 600 mark. She could even be in line for an AO WC, quallies or even maindraw.

I can't see why not after Lucasweicz or whatever it was got one a few years back :tape:

Plus she's really hot, very marketable. :inlove:

Brisbane schoolgirl Isabella Holland yesterday continued her seed-slaying run at the Sunshine Coast International at Kawana, advancing to the women’s singles final.
Holland, 16, had already defeated top seed Jessica Moore and seventh-seed Alexis Prousis en-route to yesterday’s semi final, where she disposed of fourth-seed Yi-Miao Zhou in three sets.
Holland, pictured, dropped the opening set 5-7, before regrouping and taking the second 6-4.
She then dominated the final set, winning 6-0 to set up a finals’ meeting with Sydney-based Jarmila Gajdosova at 11.30am.
Third-seed Gajdosova comprehensively beat Chloe Jones 6-1 6-1 in her semifinal yesterday.
Men’s top seed Colin Ebelthite meets Marinko Matisevic in the men’s final this afternoon
