Ana's been training for two weeks without problems, she's 100% healthy, motivated and the type of court favours her.

She'll go all the way,1 set lost at worst..

I agree that she's motivated to win again and is putting everything behind her. She's going to have some tough moments though. I see a run to the semi's, but the final is a possibility

Can she beat Aga and Nadia, she'll lose in SEMIs.

If she beats Nadia, I just don't see Aga beating her. No way.

I think Nadia is too tough of a comeback match for her. I'd be suprised if she beat her.

She loses to Petrova or, if not, to Radwanska. Never in doubt

The correct question is if Ana is back in form or not. Losing to any player in her quarter is no shame and if she's back in form losing to her is no shame either. For her sake I hope she is able to deal with her emotional issues. She denies that she has had any but I think she has. I would love to see her back competing on a level she is capable of. I am not really a fan, but I like to see a strong field.

Ana is just an unpredictable player that she might go all the way or lose in a first match :o

I agree with you. I also think Ana has emotional issues. Sometimes she lets things mess with her concentration and she just goes missing. Some of the matches she lost to lower ranked players this last few months were 3 sets mental batles that she should have won, but crumbled after losing countless opportunities. She needs to adress this issues if she wants to improve and gain some consistency.

As for the tournament, I hope she has a good showing. She has finally been able to practice regularly for the past 2 weeks, which was something she couldn't do since june. So there are just no excuses.

She can lose to Petrova or Bartoli. She'd have to play really bad to lose to Radwanska. If she can get to the semis, who knows?

Why would you say this

After you said this in this past:

I can't think of many Marion matches, but I do think her loss to Radwanska last year in Stuttgart was a lot better than the scoreline reflects.

Why would you say this

After you said this in this past:

Here's what I mean: Radwanska is a very good player who is great to watch against players that she is undoubtedly better than, but when she is up against an in-form elite (3 matches against Williams sisters this year and Sveta in IW), she is made to look pretty average due to her lack of consistent power on her ground strokes and poor second serve. Ivanovic has a great return and powerful ground strokes, and the surface they play on here is very fast, so if she plays her best, I think she could beat Radwanska easily on this type of court (not so much on a slower surface).
Re the Stuttgart match: I meant the match was a lot better than the scoreline reflects. It was a great match but the scoreline shows 3 one-sided sets.

Thanks, I follow your train of thought and I agree with it with one exception. Agnieszka's weakness that you are pointing out is one she is working on for a while. As her fan I am observing this pretty closely and I think I can see progress. In Eastbourne final Nadia who owns powerful serve and groundstroke played one of her best games of this season and was defeated by Agnieszka. You could also see glimpses of it in the second set played against Venus in USO. I would say if she made further progress and will be more consistent applying what she works on for a while Ana may find a tough competitor regardless how well she plays. Obviously that remains to be seen.

my money's on radwanska taking her out in the quarters. no way she's beating aggie.

I hope you don't mean real money, because, should it indeed come to that, Ivanovic will give Radwanska a beating for the ages. Ivanovic is a matchup player, and Radwanska is one of the best matchups she can ask for.

i have no idea! if she beats petrova in her first match, i think she'll have little trouble beating radwanska in the quarters. but petrova will be a tough one, especially considering her (few) wins in the past few months. on the plus side, shes no longer #1, so the pressure is off. maybe this will be a turn around event :D

My money would be on Radwanska as well, and I am betting real money. Tennis is about matchups and accordingly every player is a matchup player. The Ana we have seen lately will be terrorized by Radwanska's steady counter style tennis. Why? Because Ana's by far best weapon isn't working and she is hitting way too many errors. Ana in good form should beat Radwanska easily, so I guess it is more correct to say that Ana is a momentum kind of player.
