Great fight from Kimiko. :worship:

Anyone knows if she was down in the 2nd set by a break or even MP?

I'm glad Kimiko won, but she is going to have to play a lot better than that in her next couple of matches if she wants to qualify. :scared:

i think this has a lot to do with nerves. this is no longer playing some 50k where you're turning up for fun. this is WTA qualifying and she was the favourite for the match as well. im sure she will put in a better performance in the next round and at least she got the win.

Congrats to Kimiko on winning her first WTA match since her comeback:bounce:.

I don't think people should be expecting too much from her because it'll be very tough for her to win this level of matches seeing as she hasn't played for so long and therefore any win should be praised!

I don't expect her to beat Dellacqua but good luck to Kimiko:D!

I think nerves played a big part in this match, which should be expected having not played a real WTA Event in 12 years. That being said, I thought she turned it around in the 3rd and started to be more confident.

It's a different match vs. Casey, Kimiko should be able to use her pace and redirect the ball with some nice angles. Should be a good match, I think Kimiko will win in straight sets.

Go Kimiko!!! :worship:

You think Kimiko can beat Casey in straight sets!?! Is that based on knowing their games or on ??? I hope you are right! Go Kimiko!! :bounce:

I need to go look at the draw.

Kimiko will have some pace to work with this match, she'll be able to use that to her advantage. She likes taking the ball early and redirecting powerful shots.

Casey also can struggle with her forehand when she isn't given enough time to set up and Kimiko can exploit that by taking the ball early. Kimiko loves going inside out with her forehand and has a good backhand crosscourt, so it should be interesting.

The Unforced Error count will be the tale of the match.

Can't wait, go Kimiko go!!!!! :worship:

Sounds like you know both their games!

I suppose there is no chance this (qualie match) will be on a live feed anywhere online? Kimiko will probably have to make MD before I can watch her.
