OMG it looks massive. Its supposedky bigger than Katrina  and it will be a Cat 3 Hurricane by the time it makes landfall with water surge over 30 ft in some areas. :scared: . I am never going to complain about the snowstorms in the New England area anymore.

We got high winds today, and possibly some tornadoes (small tornadoes quite obviously hit my neighborhood during Gustav--a couple of houses got smashed). The city about seven miles from me is flooded; another town, four miles from me, is flooded really badly. And the city 30 miles from me has very bad floods. Our power went out this morning, and a big tree fell in our street. Winds may have gusted up to 50 mph. But I think that's about it for us. Western Louisiana, however, is expected to have worse surges than during Rita, and those were horrible.

its a beast. I hope Cuba, Haiti and the rest of the gulf nations made it through it. Ive been listening all day and they hardly mention them.

I Live in Dallas, we are only expecting high winds and 2-4 inches of rain, possible flooding.

It's huge! I've heard that even if you stand on your two story house, the water will be higher than that.
It's also very slow so it's create even more dammages.

 I live in Dallas, but currently go to school at TCU in Ft. Worth :wavey:

But as already stated, just high winds and lots of rain here. They moved the college football games to earlier in the day to avoid getting hit by the bad part of the storm.

Everyone down south be safe. News said that anybody living in beach houses that does not flee will face certain death.
I hope everyone took note of the message.
